ok well i can get the FSP400-60PN rather than the PFN.. i didn't see a FSP400-60PN? [edit: on the fortron site i mean] but a PNU and a PFN.. anyway.. what is thought of 120mm faned PSUs around here? my thinking would be the fact that its a big fan and that it [the fan] is 'more inside' would be good...

i haven't seen it available anywhere in the UK.. the PSUs i have found for a good price (<£40) in the UK are: dabs.com: Thermaltake silent purepower 420W (£37.50)# scan.co.uk: CWT 450W (£34.65)# CWT 350W (24.62)# microdirect.co.uk: Fortron Source 350W [FSP350-60PN(PF)] (£29.38)* Fortron Source 400W ...

good evercool fan?
is this fan any good? if anyone has any better-value fans they know of in the UK- what and where? i plan to have about 4 of these fans in my pc (2 on HS, 1 in PSU and 1 for exhaust), and along with a baracuda HDD, they would be the only noise source. i dont initially plan to under-volt them, but i p...

would it be a good idea to buy one of these and change the 80mm fan for a quieter one? if i put in a silenX fan, what would be the difference between the official silenX PSU and 'my' modded one?, if anything.. my only other options for a cheap 'attempting to be quiet' psu are a CWT (aka antec) 450W,...

'Plextor Premium becomes quieter already at much higher read speeds.' they dont actually do a combo drive do they? so 24x is a great difference [is that an actual 24x drive or a 52x set at 24x?].. i'd expect it was probably 'quiet', considering it was for a CD drive.. umm so i have heard bad things ...

ok but the liteon comobos support it right? i was thinking of gettin an LG perhaps as i heard they are quieter (at stock speed) than the liteONs.. but that would be another reason against them.. and i was hoping that it a) or b) would occur a little faster than 4x obviously.. annyone have any info /...

(Maybe some kind of EU regulation or so? Dunno...) nope. 4-pin fans are safer anyway.. who knows why there are more 3 pin fans here... anywayyy that Al evercool fan would be nice on the XP-120... it would act as an extension to the HS :) 'We've probably seen the last of the new Socket A cooler intro...

Are these all native SATA? how long until they will be readily available? i have been thinking about getting a 7200.7 120gb IDE drive and am now wondering weather i should wait for the 7200.8.. especially if it offers better performance aswell as noise. could i get a SATA to IDE converter to run a S...

'It's all a scam, really.' celerons, yes... AMDs durons no way.. you can go out and buy a duron 1600 and it will 9 times out of 10 overclock above the speed of a 3200+ XP. and the 1600 durons have been out a long while (in the days when the 3200 XP was top of the line). *that* is what i call a barga...

'Most 120mm fans with 3pin connectors are the high performance, LOUD type tho.' theoretically, loud 120mm fans should be less likely to use 3pin connectors.. as they pull more current so more likely to blow the motherboard header.. the quiet ones shouldn't have a problem runnin off headers anyway, i...

you can 'make' it work in any motherboard.. but best, as azbrandon says, is to have one with a wide range of voltage adjustments, fsb and multiplier you can set manually. if you dont have this then you can use windows programs which allow you to change the multiplier on the fly or wire tricks. and t...

they would be about the same. the 2600+ has a probability of overclocking higher, but the 2400+ has a probability of running cooler (/lower volts). in reality, you could get 35w 2400+s which can OC more than a 45w 2600+, or a 2600+ which would run on less voltage than a 35w 2400+.. i'd get the 35w 2...

even at the same voltage they tend to run a little cooler.. they can also withstand more heat. i'd suggest you run it at the highest fsb you can (atleast 200, providing your ram is up to it), as FSB gives a greater performance increase than the mulitplier (10x200 would be faster than 20x100; but as ...

which cooling solution?
I'm planning gettin an XP-m and overclocking it, but i'd like it to be as quiet as possbile. and i'd like the option of running it quieter when i dont want so much performance.. for a heatsink i've been considering either the thermaltake silentboost (£12-£15) or Thermalright SLK 900a (£25) for fans ...
