Probably not, unless you just like the looks of it. If you want something for your single fan, you might check out the NoiseMagic NMT-2... You just plug your fan into it, and it into the mobo, and it adjusts the fan's voltage based on temp. As for 1 fan vs. 2. I asked the same question, and someone ...

Looks good. The only problem I can see is that if you want to put it together very soon, you won't be able to get the X800 in there. The plain X800 XT won't ship from CompUSA until July 6th, so I can't guess as to when the X800 XT with IceQ II will be available. For that reason I've started leaning ...

The Dell 1900FP is supposed to be just as good, it's definitely cheapter, and it's native resolution is 72ppi rather than the 2001FP's 96ppi. I definitely find that sites with a fixed font size at something like 10px I have a hard time reading (and I'm 20 with perfect vision). Unless you really want...

Take a look at my recent AMD 64 posts for some help. I already have a monitor, so the price might be a little high for you, but the info might be helpful. I have a dell 2001FP, and love it. Sure, it's not quite a CRT, but it takes up so much less room, and is pretty close. As for the drive, I've use...

Quietest 120mm case fans?
SPCR's recommended fan list doesn't cover any 120mm case fans. I was planning on using Nexus 120mm fans, but I thought I'd ask around. What's the best 120mm fan out there?

Cooling a Matrox Parhelia
What's the quietest way to cool a MATROX Parhelia 256MB video card? Zalman's ZM80C-HP with an 80mm Panaflo fan, an Arctic Silencer, or something else?

The only thing is I don't want to compromise noise for power in the video card because I'll very rarely be doing anything with intense 3D graphics. Would there be a difference in noise between the 9800 Pro and HIS's Excalibur X800 XT IceQ II? And for that matter, in the above configuration, would I ...

Athlon 64 FX-53 Machine
Firstly, I'd like to say thanks for all the help I've been given on these forums, as well as thanks for all the extremely helpful information on this site. I'll be sure to order many of my parts through SPCR's sponsors. After a few revisions, I've come up with the following components. A few things ...

Fanless high-end video card
I hope you guys don't mind all my questions! I decided to post this in a separate thread so that if someone else is looking for a similar answer they're more likely to find it. I had planned on purchasing a ATI RADEON 9600XT video card for a new, high-end machine that I'm building. My reasoning was ...

Zalman cooler for Socket 939
I'd like to use one of zalman's CNPS7000(A) fans for an Athlon 64 FX-53 CPU. The motherboard I intend on using is the Asus A8V-Deluxe. I'm just a little confused as to whether I should use the CNPS7000 or the CNPS7000A?
Thanks for all the help you've given me! I really appreciate it.

Okay, just looked at the Seasonic PSU, and it makes sense to go with them. Would I be okay with the 300 watt tornado, or should I go higher? There's a chance I might put another optical drive into the machine, but besides that I don't see much more that would draw power. The future is unforseen, tho...

Okay, just to clear up the confusion... the reason that I chose the video card is that I wanted something fanless. Also, I don't do much in 3D (the ocaisional SolidWorks) and I very rarely play games, and when I do it's hearts or solitaire :) I did like the Serious Sam demo that came with the Falcon...

Powerful and Quiet PC?
I just recently replaced a self-built machine for a high-end Falcon Northwest machine. I had put a few hundred bucks into the old machine to quiet it up, and I simply wasn't prepared for how noisy a high-end gaming machine would be. I'm not a gamer, but I wanted the best of the best (or whatever I c...
