Thanks, I fastened my fan to the case with the zip ties and vacuum hosing suggested in the article. It works great, but unfortunately my case will not shut all of the way because of the diameter of the vacuum hosing. I have an evercase 4252. Just wanted to share that with other evercase 4252 owners.

nexus case fan
After coming to the conclusion that my old cheap 120 mm rear exhaust fan was way too loud, I ordered the nexus 120mm case fan. It came with no fasteners or screw grooves. What do I use to fasten the fan onto the case? Are there any retail stores that carry these products?
Thanks
Thanks

Ok, I redid it this time. I spent 45 minutes cleaning the cpu and heatsink with alcohol. Instead of applying the paste all over the athlon 64, I did it like arctic silver 5 recommended: put the thermal paste in the middle about 3/4 the size of a bb. From a cold start, my system temperature iwas 26c ...

CPU = 51 - 63 System = 30c
Hey, I had a computer that was working great until something happened with the usb and the motherboard. Anyways, I got a replacement on the motherboard of the same make and model, cleaned the heatsink and cpu. Applied what I thought was a thin layer of thermalpaste (enough where no metal was showing...

Ever Case 4252 Fitting Heatsinks
I am about to purchase the Ever Case 4252 from newegg.com. In addition I will be purchasing the seasonic super silencer 400 w PSU and the asus a8v deluxe. I have a socket 939 athlon 64 processor and in the need for a heatsink. I found the zalman CNPS7000-Cu to be ideal, but just read that it won't f...

Cool, I forgot about my post and you all have contributed greatly to it. It is now buying time. I have decided to spend less money on the audio card, because it is not that important to me. Please let me know if all of these parts are compatible. In addition, I don't know where to get the parts with...

AstroCat, thanks for your reply. And it was your post that I was talking about. So would you recommend that I search for other heatsinks, or get the SLK948U. I did not find too many reviews about it, maybe I looked in the wrong places. If anyone else has used this heatsink or any alternatives with a...

Athlon 64 Socket 939 Heatsink
Hey, with the help of everyone on silentpcreview.com I've picked out all of the parts to the computer I'm going to build, with the exception being the Heatsink. I have a Athlon 64 3800 Socket 939 and Asus A8V Deluxe and a Evercase 4252. My question is what heatsink and heatsink fan should I get? I'm...

NetTechie, thanks a lot for that great reply. I chose to go with the Evercase 4252 case. It looks great and has had great reviews. So I will be getting two of those 120mm Evercool Aluminum Case Fans. I'm still a little confused on the heatsink. The site mentions that the Thermalright SP97 is a littl...

It now seems to between the BQE and the Evercase 4252. I like the looks of the 4252. Here's what I have: CPU: Athlon 64 3800 Socket 939 (Maybe I'...

Case Decision
I am having trouble deciding amongst four cases.
Lian Li 6070
Lian Li V1000B
Antec 3700AMB
Antec 3700BQE
I'm looking for looks, silence, and airflow. favoring airflow, silence, then looks. Any recommendations?
The Antec 3700BQE has good reviews, it just doesn't look that special.

Thanks for the responses. The $1000 case had superb reviews, but it's $1000. In addition, I have been using lcd monitors for so long that CRT's make me nauseous. Thanks for the info about the RAM pricing, i'll look somewhere else for a price. So please respond with some more info as to what case and...

$3K Budget and Need Silence
Hi, I'm in need of a new computer. I do a lot of opengl rendering and programming. I have $3k to spend, but wouldn't mind spending less. I'm looking for speed, efficiency, and silence (I guess everything). Here's a list of what I would like to have, though I'm open to suggestions. Socket 939 Athlon ...
