Re: E8400(E3110) vs Q9300 vs Q9450 Power Consumption, Temps,
This is a keeper for me for sure and which i would recommend to any HTPC/Quiet-PC enthusiast who needs the power, without all the thermals (and associated noise with it). Do you do any postprocessing, since you prefer the quad core over the dual core? And if so how do the processor usage/percentage...

Aluprofiles and "spikes"
My first attempt on this topic was using L-shaped aluminum brackets with drilled holes for hanging in a selfmade cage in elastic ribbons. After getting a 250 gb Samsung spinpoint I tried to place it, with the L-profiles on the bottom foam pad. It was very silent (and cool) but vibrated a bit, I thou...

Thanks very much Yeah; at first I spend a lot of time with elastics and making ducts out of solid pvc - but simpler solutions seems to work just as good. I made the "spikes" to get a bit more air under the hd and in an attempt to limiting vibrations in the hd itself. The "duct" from the Cpu/heat sin...

The L-profiles we...

The Sharkoon HPS1 and Cooler Master Pipe Tower 7 look very similar. Are they the same heatsink? I wonder whether they're good enough for passive cooling. Yes, they seem very much alike. I have the Sharkoon and with a 120mm papst 1600rpm set up in front and blowing through the heatsink and out of a ...

Did a test myself as I had the AOpen FSP300 60PN lying around: Prime 95 + Farcry demo loop - no problem Dual prime 95 - no problem apart from a bit of coil whine (but not as much as the Antec tp480W) Both test were run for about 45 min. Exhaust air was warm, but not enough to make me nerveous. I thi...

15A/+12V enough for P4C [email protected]?
I´m thinking about buing an Aopen FSP400-60PFN, because it will be easier to noisedampen in a frontairintakeduct than my current Antec Tp 480. The Fortron is rated at 15A on the +12V line and I´m wondering if it will be eough for my setup: P4C3.0@3.6 (cooled, by the way, with Noiseblocker Cool Scrap...

Thanks for Your answers. My plans have changed, though, as I´ve given up on cooling an Antec tP 430 with two fans from the inside (Instead my idea is to turn it upside down, so the 92 mm. fan (replaced with a fairly quite 2000rpm Jmc) gets some cold air from a front intake duct in the upper cddriveb...

Connecting two fans to one Mb-header
Is it Possible to connect two (identical) 3-pin fans to one mb-fanheader by "splicing" (don´t know if it is the right word in english, i.e. connecting) the wires in "parallel (signal-signal/ground-ground/rpm-rpm) down to one female 3-pin header. Another German shop, pc-cooling.de, only charges 8,70 Euro shipping to Dk (<5Kg). Doesn´t carry the Nexus fans though, but Papst 3412N/2 GL at 15 euro.
