Yes it's some kind of plastic netting but nothing I can find in a hardware store.

I will also look into the speaker covering thing.

Antec front filter - where to find the material?

Anyone knows where to buy the material they use to make the front filter on the Antec Sonata 2 and quite possibily others Antec cases?

Sorry to bring back this old thread. I think I have the same problem with a new WD3200JD.

It emits a faint whining noise, different from a standard idle bearing noise. The sound changes every second or so and I just can't stand it.

Any solutions or ideas to insulate this kind of noise?

Western Digital WD3200SD makes a high pitched noise

I tried with the harddrive plugged in a power supply by itself to make sure and it makes a high pitched noise. It is not the typical "idle noise". Much more like an electronic one. The pitch varies a bit (ie not always exactly the same). The exact same thing as a power supply whine which change depe...

I also have an XFX 7900GT Extreme. The thing is so loud.

I removed the stupid small fan an attached a 7volts 80mm on the heatsink. It runs hotter tough. Around 70c at full load. Is that too much?

What's the most quiet 200GB hard drive?

I have a Western Digital SE 120GB. I hate the idle whine but I like the very low seek noise.

Does the new WD ATA hard drives (the black ones) have a lower level of idle noise?

How's the seek and idle noise on Seagates 7200.7 200 GB? SATA and ATA.

Thanks.
