Good to be back... been lurking for a while though ;)

Leaning to a TR SI128 at the moment, but all these towers are kind of offputting, afterall it's just a thin bit of plastic its fixed to!

The case etc are being recycled with the following being swapped in... E6600 C2D Gigabyte DS3P (rev 3.3) 2Gig TwinX DDR2...

Hmmm, this is starting to annoy me a little ;) Still struggling to get a work packet, I have tried different versions of the client, with and without firewall etc..etc..etc.. When it picks up a work packet, fine. Trouble is, it can go for many hours looking (nine hours is the most so far). Is this n...

It's a very similar rig to mine, I have the DFI Lanparty Ultra after a ropey experience with an Asus A7N8X Deluxe when trying to run a 200fsb CPU (Barton XP3200) with PC3200 Ram, after spending a lot of money exchanging the unbranded RAM for Crucial TwinX Pro (2x512 - and yes the second 512 makes a ...

I was initially looking at the SuperLanboy, but that idea was quickly put down by some of the more knowledgable around here. The Tsunami is a good case imho, I am beginning to think that I should have gotten the side window version as the added airflow (92mm fan) would have been good. As the summer ...

I took the Tsunami case on recommendation from here. The included fans are not the quietest by any means, but a fan controller or a couple of decent fans should sort that out. Some will say go for a steel case as with a more solid build there are less vibrations, but I can safely say I like this one...

No problem, I have found one :D Almost! it is acutally a 2pin femal to 3-pin (mobo type) male, should hook up nicely to my mfc01 so I don't have to mess around with the plug at the back. For info, the stock fan uses the outer two pins of the plug, very different in size, I could chop and change, but...

Hmm.... well.... The card is great, very quick and an r360 to boot  Arctic vga silencer will no problem fit, what it wont do is plug into the *£$£*££ fan controller!!! On board is a 3pin socket, on the fan is a 2-pin plug. is there a converter I can grab a hold of from anywhere, or some oth...

I may just give it a go, it is only £7 afterall.

Does anyone know what are the stock hsf noise levels on this card like, I see a GPU Fan power connector included under 'product accessories' does this come with the card? looks like molex, that I could hook easily up to my controller.

Quick question...

... Has anyone got an MSI 9800Pro Link here, and more importantly does the VGA Silencer fit the thing?? I am not sure as the fitted HS is a bit of a beast and I am not sure if it is 'standard'. It is cheap, and with a near guarantee of a r360 core

Hmmm... From what I have found out, the 'case' temp is actually a probe very near the SB and damn that gets hot!! anyway, just taking the side off the case and it is not much warmer than the room temp Given that there appears to be a large number of people with similar complaints on the DFI boards a...

Ok, just out of interest, I had a quick look at Sandra as well, where my board temp was reported the same as the case temp in MBM so I do think it is the NB we see there. As for before temps (nearly idle) CPU Diode 35 CPU Socket 46 Case 49 After 20mins of prime (and without touching the fan speed) C...

Oops my bad  slip of a digit.. It is the SP97!! Anyway, Yes Temps are just for general usage (browsing etc.), CPU temp ups to 49 ish when under load, 50 when I have left CCE running for a few hours ;) I am happy enough with that, more concerned with the case temp really, I know the case temp i...

Ok, thanks to everyone on the forum and to EdNG for specific advice, I have now got a system that I am more than happy with acoustically. Now it is in no way what you would call silent, but is certainly quiet. I can hear all manner of sounds that I could never pick out before ;) Anyway, what I want ...
