Stock (1.12 / 1.136V) - 87.5 / 150.5W RM (1.12 / 1.088V) - 87.5 / 141.5W BIOS (1.024 / 0.992V) - 86.5 / 130W Thanks. The upside is that the 3GHz chips should be the cream of the crop so that suggests they may be particularly good over-clockers or under-volters. That's what I was thinking/hoping.

That is quite interesting, thanks. For comparison purposes, how big is the difference between using RMClock and not undervolting at all with your Q9300? BTW, it seems (not 100% sure yet) that the Gigabyte 9400 micro-ATX board can undervolt and also has very low power consumption for the mainboard it...

Yeah, that board would be great, unfortunately it does not support undervolting, as far as I've been told...

miniITX or mATX PCIe16 mainboard for Q9650 w/ undervolting

Hey guys, I need a miniITX or microATX mainboard which can undervolt the Q9650 and which has a PCIe16 slot. I'd prefer miniITX, if such a beast exists. microATX would also be acceptable. The reason why I can't use full size ATX is that the case I'm planning to use can only handle miniITX or microATX...

It's broadly available in Germany now at multiple shops for around 315 Euros. How about US? Who's going to buy one of these first? :D

Just to let you guys know, in Germany the 1TB drive is available now, albeit in limited quantities and only in a few shops: http://www.cyberport.de/item/1074/997/0/86425/Hitachi_HDS721010KLA330_Deskstar_T7K1000_-_10TB_7200rpm_32MB_35zoll_SATA300.html?APID=14 http://www.komplett.de/k/ki.asp?sku=33546...

Re: power consumption

But they aren't exactly something for silent PCs. For silence and 1 TB, it's better to keep a separate home server in another room no matter what solution you'd go for... 1x 7K1000 or 2x T166 or 12x P80 80GB or 12x-48x Barracuda IV. I'll use 4x 7K1000. I'm considering waiting for the CinemaStar ver...

The drive is already listed by number of German retailers - and for a good price, I should mention. Anyway, most don't have specific shipment dates. One shop lists 04.07.07, which I think is probably a typo. Probably they meant to write 07.04.07, which would be in about 2 weeks.

Hey guys, in germany's biggest silent forum people are often recommending to cut a whole into the front bottom of the case to get a good air flow. Advantages are said to be less noise compared to front air in take (noise goes through the cutted hole to the floor, losing volume when being reflected t...
