The 7600Gt runs about 60-65 watts which makes it a mid-range heat producer. No question the Vf-900 will work great, but for passive you may wish to look into the Aerocase Condor. Although a slight over-kill, we have been selling quite a few of our Condor video coolers to 7600 owners (especially in t...

We can sell you 6mm x 200mm straight heatpipes for $6 each (quantities of <12). These are the same high-quality ones used for our Raven and Condor video coolers.

Well, I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't reccomend the Aerocase Raven. I personally use one on my own 800XL so I know it works. Although slightly more expensive than other solutions, it is guaranteed to passively cool your card or your money back.

To passively cool a video card producing over 100 watts of heat takes a LOT of area ... over 470 square inches to be precise. So, to ask that the heatsink doesn't take up "half the case" is a bit of an oximoron. As you can read from the 2 reviews of the Aerocase Condor here on SPCR, passive cooling ...

The old ATI 9xxx, X8xx series and new 1300-1600 series all generally have 2 hole mounting (the 1600 began adding 43mm squared 4 holes). The new X1800-x1900 series switched over to 4 hole 53mm mounts (same as 6800, 7800, 7900 nvidia cards). However, there are a dozen variations ... 7800GS is weird, a...

Yes, go ahead and bend the Wing up an inch. The heatpipes will be OK to bend that far. If there is a problem we'll replace the unit, so go for it. And, no I don't think reversing the fan is the way to go. Leave it blowing down. The Raven was designed for natural convection so it works best if there ...

I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't recommend one of our Raven coolers. 8) It might be a bit pricey for your older 9700, but it will be dead silent, and will work with very little air-flow. Do you have a rear case fan? If so, then the Raven may be the perfect solution. Here are the details: http:...

Should work, if you are just gaming for a few hours a day. But for some reason the VF900 is getting mixed reports (perhaps install issues?). Our Raven passive video cooler might be the ticket here. We might need the measurements for that unusual screw pattern ... but with the low power of this GPU, running fanless would be easy. Take a look here: http://www.aero-case.com/raven_data.html

Good morning everyone. 1) OK, yes, the reversed Condor will fit in the P180 if you are using the first PCIe slot. (Two Condors in a crossfire setup will take a bit more work!) 2) We have a new option on the order page for a Single Slot Solution , which is a Condor or Raven without the small heatsink...

Really good questions: 1) Yes, it's perfectly OK to have cards under the reversed wing. As for dual crossfire X1900's yes, it's possible when in a 120mm case (like your P180) AND if you are willing to live with the fans running near full speed when in 3d mode. Add up the heat ... that's about 300 wa...

Vincent, since the heatsink Wing assembly sits in front of the rear case fan, almost all of the warm air is exhausted out that way. CPU temps will only go up if the rear case fan isn't running fast enough to keep air moving through the case. This is the biggest issue encountered in using passive coo...

Aerocase passive cooling systems. Here is the link: www.aero-case.com
Just reviewed at http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticle&articID=477
The X1300-X1800 ATI's are PCIe (I don't think they come in AGP). For your rig, I'd stick with the 800XT or GTO or 6800 solution.

No, it is not designed for any kind of thru flow. The heatsink Wing assembly is perpendicular to the rear case fan and designed to operate passively in that direction.

Older heatpipe design used to require gravity return of the condensed water; but, that was a couple years back. Most companies today are using sintered powder cores that allow use at any angle. Hello SPCR, There are 2 reviews forthcoming very soon ... VERY soon. As for changing fin direction, yes, we can make them that way, but we don't recommend it because forced airflow is only going to drop the temp by a few degrees C. Why so little you ask? Because these heatsinks have been designed sp...

Just thought I'd add my two cents worth to this thread, since I have helped design some of the heaviest video coolers on the market.
