the XP-120 comes with 2 sizes of clip, as far as i remember, but maybe 80 is too small. anyway if it's a Winchester then you might try it fanless? works OK for me.

hi all, as i said, i don't think it's a sensor hypersensitivity issue, because the temp decreases gradually over a period of five minutes; the initial few degrees drop rapidly, as one would expect, but thereafter it's a very gradual decline to idle temps, which makes me think it's a genuine temp inc...

hi, my mobo is as in my sig - A8N-SLi deluxe. The screensaver is a blank screen. I get the impression that the CPU is cool while the screensaver is engaged, but it's the waking procedure that causes the peak. When I wake from screensaver, the temp is initially cool (in the 30s) but after a few secon...

Screensaver-Wake causes CPU temp peak!

My 3000+ Winchester is happily cooled with a fanless XP-120, and idles at 29-35 deg, depending on ambient. But when i move my mouse after a few hours, and it wakes from screensaver and i enter the password, the CPU temp jumps from around 30 to almost 60deg, then rapidly falls. NB: this is with no pr...

my A64 3000+ Winchester is cooled by a XP-120 without fan. but it's quite close to the rear 12cm case exhaust Nexus. With CnQ enabled, idles at around 29-36 degrees, depending on ambient temp. Load - no idea, haven't loaded it yet! will try to get cpuburn and see. i have a feeling that as long as i ...

Oliver: I had an XP-120 + Nexus 120 on my A8N-SLi deluxe, and the left panel fitted on fine, even with the round air guide. however, when applying acoustipack to the case, i took off the air guide (easy to do) and haven't put it back yet (don't really see the need to. Also, I just found this....

(WD3200JD, apparently in stock, at a UK site)
it was too good to be true. Having noticed that every single SATA disk was the same price, I telephoned them; they don't have it in stock, the prices were wrong, and they have no estimated date of stock arrival. :(

WD3200JD on sale in UK

Ed - the -PB suffix was to temporarily denote the FDB drives while they were being introduced; according to a news item I posted elsewhere on SPCR a few days ago (albeit from July 2004), WD had always planned to go back to JB and JD etc. once all their drives had FDB, which I believe by now they are...

Dtemp - only 2 temps?

Dtemp.exe only reports the temp of my sata samsung sp0812c. Interestingly, it only ever reports the temp as either 23 or 30°C - it wavers between the two temps, and never has a reading in-between.

any explanation for this?
