Hmm.. I was going to set it at 3V, but I over resisted it. I'll fix it sometime, I guess. :)

CPU only. The exhaust is off by default, it's there as a fail safe if my CPU overheats and then it will turn on.

Pics will come later. I have problem sets due tommorow. :)

Actually it's not much to look at. Just like any other system with a CPU and Exhaust fan, just that the exhaust doesn't move. :)

I only have one working fan in my computer. What do u think?

So basically I'm a freak on silence. I use only Nexus fans because Vantec Stealth suck, and Nexus is even quieter than Panaflo. The only ones that come close are Papst, or SilenX. Anyways, I have a 92mm Nexus on the CPU. That's it. The PSU had a 80mm, but I stuck some resistors in it and I guess I g...

That sounds pretty good. Actually the lct20s have 128KB of buffer...not even 2MB. What if I got a 120GB 8MB and partitioned it into two drives... C: for OS, Program files (40Gigs) and D: (80Gigs) D: would have personal documents, etc. Could I have one 40GB lct20 in a Raid 1 for the first 40G of D:, ...

Help me choose a nice silent yet well performing HDD setup.

I currently have two 4500rpm 40.0GB Maxtor/Quantum lct20 Fireball drives. 128KB Cache. C: has system files and OS. Usually below 20GB. D: has documents and music, videos. Everything that I need to save for a format. Almost at capacity. The D: is running out of space, and I'm thinking of upgrading. W...

Re: Need Help: I have 4 Exhaust Fans... Suction? What to do?

My HDD's do NOT have SMART-HDD Temp ability. So I have no HDD temps. Don't ask. I tried 4 programs. You'll want to try enabling SMART in the BIOS, then they might work... I checked the Specs on these HDD's. They DO have SMART, but not the temp sensing ability. Back on Topic.. how would I position t...

Well, from my other thread, I do have a lot of exhausts. Unfortuately this case is not designed with intake in mind. As of right now, I only have 3 exhaust fans - one on top, one on the back and on for PSU. All are silent - either at 7V, or are Nexus (real 18dBA unlike the Vantec Stealths which lie....

you'd end up either with air being forced backwards in through any lower cfm/pressure exhausts, I think this is what's going on. Since my fans are grommeted, they have about 1/3" space away from the case. I presume the air is going around the sides of the fan, pulled in by suction, then expelled ou...

UPDATED WITH PICS! I have 4 Exhaust Fans and Suction! Help!

Hey, so you probably know me from the other System Advice thread (http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=15753) about the computer. I have 3 exhaust fans (case, top part, and PSU) and 0 intakes. This is alright, but I also sealed up all my extra holes, so there are virtually no holes at al...

I'd also like to say that my temps dropped 10 degrees when I installed my 92mm Nexus on top of the case. Or maybe it was the 80mm one in the PSU. Either way, I'm happy =)

I guess this thread is coming to an end. Turns out I could mount a 92mm exhaust on the TOP of the case. So, I've got a 7V Nexus (thanks to fancalc) in my PSU, a 12V 92mm Nexus on the top of the case, 12V 92mm Nexus on the CPU, 80mm Nexus on the Exhaust, and an 80mm UV CCFL Sunbeam @ 7V just for show...

Now that I've got 4 80mm Nexus fans running at 7V.. 92mm Nexus on the HSF....sealed up all the holes in the case... dremeled out my grills... suspended the HDD's... got rounded cabling and rounded PSU cables...

Where do I go from here? Insulation?

Ok, I'm outfitting my entire computer with Nexus fans. Now, here's the thing. If I want my fans at 7V, what resistor do I need to wire between them? Also, I'm switching out the PSU fan this weekend with a 80mm Nexus, what should the voltage be on that one?

I might be in another deal for them. Just let me know how much you'd be willing to pay. I have Heatware under simms (55). Should I take the SilenX? I heard about the scandal that was here on SPCR a while back.... and I'm not sure whether to try them or not. I also believe it's the 14dba version. Simon

I just got a deal, my two Vantecs (80 and 92) for a 92mm SilenX. Should I do it? I just bought the 92 Nexus yesterday though. Yes, I'm aware the SilenX makes fans anywhere from 9-14dBa (I emailed him to find out which one it was). Should I do it? What should I do about the 92mm Nexus then? And also ...

What if I switch in a 80mm Nexus in my PSU, how about that..

Oooh, inline resistors sound fun. What's the resistance on these though? Let's try... V=IR right, with V being (ideally) 7V, and I being 0.10 A ... I'm looking at 70ohms? So just wire in a 70ohm resistor in series to the thing?

The L1A that's in your PSU? I'd let the PSU take care of that. Heh, if you can hang that undervolted steath by the exhaust, it might do some good. So you suggest I get 80mm and 92mm L1A's instead of using my stealths...? Just checking. :)
