OK, as promised, a pic of the rear. The Sonata grill was very easy to clip out with regular (hobby size) diagonal clippers. You can get in really tight to the edge, so what's left on the case is really not that sharp. It should still have a wire grill like the PSU, to save me from the occasional knu...

How did you cut the back grill, what tools? Well, the Sonata's rear grill is already very open to begin with, so with a small pair of wire cutters, I snipped the grill out very easily (and without any small metal bits flying off and getting into places they shouldn't be) I had the whole works apart...

Yes, you are correct on the Raid. The 2 200 giggers are mirrored. I keep getting them confused too. Squash balls on top of the carpet? That might be taking it a little too far. I was just looking for airflow, vibration is pretty well non-existant. (good enough for me anyway). I'm fooling around on a...

Help a graphix noob out
At the moment I have an Asus P4R800V-Delux mobo, with ATI Radeon 9100 onboard graphics. It has available PCI and AGP8X/4X slot(s) At 64mb of shared ram, I get a 3DMark score of ~3800, with 128mb shared it drops to ~2400. (1 gig of ram total on this machine) I want to upgrade to a video card for a fe...

What I've found in my case, is that the 3 pin connector should be fine for the RPM sensor, if the Molex is getting it's proper voltage. My own problem is that when I use the 3-pin connected to the monitor header, the fan controller becomes useless and the fan runs at the full 12V, no matter what the...

Aleksi 's post contains a lot of good information, but it didn't make one point clear. There is no "pure" RPM cable on the Nexus fans. It has a 4-pin pass-through connector for direct connection to the PSU and it has a 3-pin connector to plug onto a motherboard fanheader. You should use only one of...

I got a Plextor for Christmas from my brother. It runs reasonably loud and fast when it needs to, but if you're playing a CD or DVD is slows right down to near silent. Haven't had any problems with it. Now just need to find a better backup solution that will allow me to burn the 4.7gig images instea...

Funny....I recently got a LIS 2 controller and two Nexus(Yate Loon) orange fans. At anything less than 100% (12v) they make a distinct humm sound when using the LIS 2 controller.....some type of PWM control I guess. Anyway I'm back to using Globe 120s. The orange fans are nice, but really don't go ...

New Upgrade (L.I.S.2 and a couple o' Nexus)
L.I.S. 2 Found a deal on this the other day on another forum and thought I'd check it out. IMHO it's more bling than anything else. It's basically a dashboard, with 4 fan controller. With the stock Antec 120mm it gave full control, from 0V to 12V, so you could use the dashboard to turn off the fan ...

The Noisetaker has a VERY STIFF ATX connector. Very hard to keep the inside nice and tidy with a stiff cable. Also, if I remember correctly, the cables were a little on the short side. I've got a Noisetaker 375, and yes, the ATX connector is very stiff - but you only really need to touch it once. I...
