I thought I was having issues with faulty sata cables in my system. After replacing every cable, trying the drives in different ports, and several volume repairs \o/ I finally figured out what was going on. I had 4 drives in the system, and it was too much for the powersupply. At least I assume that...

... If I turn off the Reserator, how strong the water pressure would be if the tubes were unplugged? Maybe if I make it fast... I really try to avoid emptying the damn thing! :P If you try that you'll make a lot more mess than you'd get from emptying the reserator! It's not hard to do, just ...

Well I suspect the pump wasn't getting enough power to start. Either that or it's just decided to work again! :) Unfortunately I've moved house and had a nasty bout of the flu since I last messed with this so I can't remember the exact configuration of my PC when I thought the pump had failed. I hav...

I pulled the cover of my reserator enheim pump yesterday to find the source of the rattling before I pressed it back into service. The impeller is plastic and sits on a metal shaft. It looks to me like the plastic has worn allowing the impeller to rattle on the metal shaft. I didn't use any anticorr...

Laing DDC failure - False Alarm?
I've been running a Laing DDC from dangerden for about a month, and I've been quite happy with it until this weekend. It no longer runs! If I put my finger on it and turn the power on I can feel it kick a little, but it doesn't turn. I tried to turn it on about 20 times before giving up for the nigh...

Ok, I did a quick test with the DDC running with all the fans and hdds unpowered. It's quite a bit louder than the Reserator pump was when the tower was on something soft (before it got the rattles). However it is quieter than my twin seagate 7200.7 200GB drives in elastic suspension. I wonder how m...

Nope, didn't notice any change. My reserator tower isn't in a good spot for airflow, and that seems to be the bottleneck for heat in my system. Still, it keeps my Athlon64 3400+ at 1.4v under 50degC at full load in a warm room, so it's doing pretty well. I have a 6800GT in the loop too. Both CPU and...

I still haven't tested in a really quiet environment, but putting it on foam gets rid of a lot of noise. I'd say the volume was close to that of the reserator's internal pump. If you put the reserator tower on something soft (but stable!) you can get rid of the deep hum you get from putting it on a ...

An update.. I received my DDC pump from dangerden and installed it last night. Was annoyed to discover that the pump switch for my reserator didn't have screws, so I nearly busted the casing trying to get it open. Then I found the wires were crimped, not screwed into terminals, so I had to cut them ...

Recent hot weather and some poor temporary drive mountings pushed my seagate 7200.7 200gb sata drives over 50 deg C. Windows logged drive errors in the event viewer. SMART for one of the drives logged a max temp of 55 deg C. I also have 2 120gb 7200.7 sata drives.. they probably got even hotter, bec...

Suggestions for Reserator pump replacement?
I need to replace my extremely noisy Reserator pump. It was so nice when it was quiet.. From reading other threads it seems like the Laing DDC pump is the favourite. Do any aussies know a source for these pumps in Australia, or failing that, can anyone recommend a good site that ships international?...

My reserator started clanging after a month or so of periodic use. I took the pump out and ran it submerged in a bucket, sound source is definitely inside the pump. I didn't see any corrosion. I'm running pure distilled with some anti-algae chemicals, and have changed the water once. After seeing th...

I'm running this: Athlon64 3400+ 2x Seagate 200GB sata 2x Seagate 120GB sata Pioneer 107D dvd burner Geforce 6800GT All on the phantom. A single 120mm fan cools the 200GB hdds and gives the phantom a tiny bit of airflow. I say tiny because it's in a Lian Li V1000 case and the air has to go through t...

I'm running a Phantom 350 in a system I've just built. It's a 3400+ Athlon64 on an nForce3 350gb board, 6800GT, 4 hdds and one dvd burner. CPU and GPU cooled by a reserator :) I haven't had any crashes except for when one of my sata drives dropped from dma to pio. I don't know why it did that, but u...
