Good to hear you're having some success :) I've got the 3520 as well and certainly when spinning up and reading CDs it's stunningly loud. When it's reading a DVD it's a lot quieter but far from ideal for an HTPC :( What you may want to do is to replace the stock ASUS northbridge cooler with a zalman...

If the block isn't fitted properly to the card or the heatpipes to the block then you're gonna screw your temps right up. Make sure that it's all secured properly and that there's AS5 between the pipe and blocks. I've seen pics of the cooler and it looks a bit dodgy the only other thing I can sugges...

I think it's without ascorbic acid or am I going mad? Anything branded as 'acid free' will fit the bill anyway. You really want to get a type that melts at a higher temperature as well as there's nothing worse than liquid glue in your PSU :) Have you localised the source of the whine. Chances are if...

Actually, the floppy/card reader combo is available in beige, black and silver over at www.aria.co.uk. There's two versions out now, the second is apparently the best due to revised card reader electronics.

Unsure if this fits a 6600GT or not (but I doulbt it) but every review I've seen has rated this cooler as worse than the zalman passive cooler. I really like the idea of an external radiator on a graphics card and I hope that it is futher researched. This would be perfect for a SFF computer if it co...

I intend to mod a 120x38mm ducted fan (prob panaflo if the one I got pushes enough air at low RPMs) to the back (modding and sealing the ICE system for optimal airflow). silicone gasketing all fans/drives, suspending the HDD and maybe making some more airholes for GFX card. Also, I'll dampen the PSU...

Shuttle SN45Gv2 advice needed
Hello lovely modders, I've just got my grubbly little hands on one of these shuttles and I need some guidance on what to equip it with. I'm going to be using it primarily for HTPC use and some gaming (Up to HL2 and CS:S levels). I'm torn between the 3.2GHz and 2.8GHz athlon XPs but there's also the ...

Jesus! You produce this stuff or are you just a freelance chemist browsing the forums? Basically, the point of the post was to say that it really isn't a wonder product and a similar, or better efffect can be made much cheaper by adding a concentrate to distilled water. (took me 5 mins to write my p...

I can't speak from first hand experience, but you may want to investigate the SilentStar (SilentStor?) HD-dual and single - these cool and quieten your hard drives, and I've seen a report (on a forum, in French, badly translated by google) that it cooled a Cheetah 15K.3 to 36ºC. So it should cool a...

Hi mate, They're WACC passive cooling reservoirs available from http://www.wetandchillychips.co.uk/ They come in 300mm, 350mm , 450mm, 550mm and 1m (!) flavours and combined with even a double rad can passive cool systems. They're pretty pricey but they're definately worth it. Hoping to run a heavil...
