I used the logisys silencer and it's not very good. I picked up a 2002C Smart Drive enclosure and it helped some but not as much as I had hoped.Abula wrote:SPCR Western Digital Red 4TB
Haven't used them, but in case you do want to enclose the hdd, Logisys Aluminum Hard Drive Silencer - Silver

Re: 6TB WD Red to loud.. now what?
The 2002C didn't remove as much noise as I had hoped but it did reduce it some. Drive runs really cool in the enclosure. Seek noise was greatly reduced but I can still hear the woosh sound although not bad.

Has anyone compared the CR-95C to the Macho Zero with noth using case fans? I mean use the duct on the Macho and have case fans running with the CR-95C.

Re: CR-95C and Zalman Fanelsss?
I had planned to run my case fans either way so the Macho makes the most sense because I can duct it over to my 140mm Noctua Redux. Those spin at 400rpm when at idle and low load.. should be plenty to keep my i7 cool even overclocked. I hardly ever stress it enough to create any real heat issues.

Yeah, I am about to order the Macho Zero.. I was going with the noFan but the Thermalright setup seems so much easier plus I had planned to run my case fans anyways.

Need advice on thermal paste.
I ran Liquid Metal Pro last time and loved it although I am worried what I will find when I remove my heatsink to put on the new one. Who makes the best paste out at the moment? I read something about Thermene and another site said Tuniq TX-4.. Please recommend me a good no maintenance one.. I will ...

Being a silent forum I am surprised I don't see more talk about the CR-95C in here or the Zalman Fanless option. Anyone running one of these?

6TB WD Red [too] loud.. now what?
So got the 6TB Red installed and it's the only thing I hear in my whole pc when at idle or in light use. Sounds like a fan at about 900-1000 rpm.. just a whoosh sound. The seek noise isn't bad. Before the HD my system was damn near dead silent with case fans spinning at 400rpm and the CPU/video card...

Fractal R5.. Loving it.
I have had the same case for many years and decided time for something new and a little more quiet. So I picked up a white Fractal R5 with a window. I know the solid side panel would have been more quiet but I have to see the beautiful guts it has. I picked up 3 Noctua Redux 140mm fans for case cool...

Most quiet 4tb drive and what can make it more quiet?
My current drive sounds like a loud fan even with suspension. Can someone recommend the most quiet 4tb and does anyone make an enclosure I can put it in and put in a 5 1/4 bay? I want it as silent as possible!

I have these network pieces that send network signal over my plugs in my wall Interesting. Not something that has come up before. So the network over power units themselves make the high pitch whine? I'm guessing they have an AC-DC power supply themselves and this might make the whine. It's strange...

Ok just a heads up on what I did.. Noctua 140mm Redux 2 up front and 1 in rear.. running 350 rpm... I shutdown the CPU fan using Asus stop fan option when not hot. Also the new GTX 980 I got shuts off the fans at idle. My PC is freakin quiet.. cpu hottest core 37c at idle with no fan on and 4.5ghz O...

Check if its psu, The new gtx970 are prone to whine, not all bit nos that they are semi passive los are noticing. Either way if its The psu, and you want to change it, any 500w will handle ypur setup fine, evento overclocked. LOL.. yes I am VERY aware.. I tried an Asus Strix 970 bad coil whine and ...

Help picking a new PSU..
My current Seasonic 750 started to pickup a little coil whine here recently. Its probably 3 years old and I never noticed it until we moved into a new house and have a tile study room. So now I hear it. I was looking at the Silverstone 520w 0db psu.. not sure if it makes any whine? Also not sure if ...

Re: Aerocool DS fans?
From what I am reading there are two version of the Aerocool DS fans.. the US model shows to be 1,500 rpm for the 140mm. Knowing both models are capable of 1,500 rpm what would be the better choice? Because I am running a window in my case I an tempted to use the Aerocool but worried about the quali...

Saw someone showing a test Aerocool DS 140mm FDB Fan vs a Noctua Redux and it is supposed to move as much air and makes much less noise. Are these the real deal or another gimmick?

Noctua Redux 140mm.. still ok for a case fan?
I was reading the Noctua 140mm Redux is a static pressure fan but how well will it work for a case fan? I have always been a fan of Noctua and now with the Redux color I am in love with the look. Will it work for me though as two intake on an R5 and one exhaust?

Re: New case.. time for new 140mm fans..
Are the Redux 140 still ok for case fans? I have read they are more for static pressure and not air flow so I am a little concerned if they will work well enough for me? I was thinking with the R5 being slightly restrictive they would work well being a static pressure fan?

New R5 case owner.. help with fan placement and suggestions
I have had my 600T for a while now and decided now with the release of the R5 it was time for a new case. I ordered the White window version. Yes I know that is a mistake when the goal is a silent build. The solid panel would have done a better job keeping the noise in but I needed to have a little ...
