Thanks for your reply.
I'm looking at the Dell Inspiron e1405 / 640m right now as well. I get a great deal for that one.

Another question I have is regarding the noiselevel of the D620 with a duocore, as the datasheet (http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/co ... t_D620.pdf) only has the model with the Pentium M cpu.

Laptop suggestion
Hello, since I'm moving to Berlin in a few months I'm looking for a rather portable and a not too noisy notebook. I was wondering whether the Dell Inspiron 9400/Latitude D420 (a tad too expensive with Dell Belgium) would be a good choice here. I'm not looking to play 3d games on it (that would be a ...

Thank you for the decent answers, and I apologize for having caused any discomfort with anyone :) . I'm guessing that keeping it the way it is, is very decent alright, since there is only a minimal noise of airflow that I can really hear. The more as it is a huge difference to my previous system I c...

Oh on the contrary, I'm very satisfied with various answers I got from the people in this thread, and I did read the fundamentals. I guess I'll just go on and try both of them, the more I was wondering on whether changing the seasonic fan with the nexus fan, which is supposedly the most quiet 120mm ...

I rebrowsed the PSU section and the PSU recommended section but I wasn't able to find the Seasonic Super Tornado 400 at all. Since that very Item has been reviewed I'd like to be linked to that review on this site. Thank you in advance. EDIT: Thanks for your reply NeilBlanchard. That makes me want t...

As I don't want to make a new post, and as I still didn't get any answer, except for one I don't need (no harm intended), I thought I might just bump this thread for one. I got the two psus in today, and I tested the seasonic right away. Seems very decent...as I don't want to disassemble the whole t...

El-cheapo quiet vga controller
I'm thinking about replacing my current msi geforce 6800 td-128 by a more quiet and cheaper card. Now it's not like I'd want to have the same graphical performance of that previous geforce, since I don't care about 3d games on pc. What I do care about are 1. silence 2. coolness without any megaquiet...

PSU "Dilemma"
Now that I soon will have 2 brand-new PSUs at my home, and that I'm way too lazy to test both of them when I receive them, I thought that it might be way easier to ask in here. The objects I'm referring to are firstly the Seasonic Super Tornado 400W PSU and secondly the NX-3500 Nexus 350 Watt...

Thank you for your reply. I don't use any internel drives anymore, nor floppy drives, and my external dvd-burner is stand-alone powered, like other externals of that kind. I guess that some case-fans will be added to that when I'm getting a new one, but it is indeed only those few components that ne...

Will the Seasonic be able to power my system?
I'm talking about the reviewed Seasonic Super Tornado 300 ATX12V v1.3 PSU.
I was wondering if it is able to power
Athlon 64 3500+ & 1gig 400er ram on ASRock combo-z
Geforce 6800 td-128 (might change)
4 hdd
And if not, which Tornado should I get?

I see. So going aluminium for acoustic purposes will not do me as good as I thought then. I'll think about all of your cheaper mentions, because I have to spend some money on other things now as well as it would seem. A 100$ barrier should be ok. Thanks for your suggestions. :D And a Merry Christmas...

Most silent case I can get around 250-300 € or $
Well, topic. I read quite some nice reviews about most lian li cases, but even with knowing that I wouldn't know which model to get. So I'm expecting some nice posts here helping me to decide on what to get without wasting my money. PS : It won't matter if there is already a psu in it, or if there i...

Thank you for your reply, Tephras. I wasn't even aware of any other fanless power supplies. I'll be sure to take those into consideration. I guess the buzzing can be reduced to 0 with some tweaks as well later on. :P EDIT: The Antec Phantom is a 350w psu, and it still will be surer to being able to ...

Alphacool GFX GPX-N Geforce VS. Watercool Heatkiller GPU
Greetings dear silent community. I would need some help on deciding which gpu cooling device to get for my MSI nx6800 (loud and hot as hell), where I found 2 very interesting Items. However my knowledge about such things is very small to non-existing and I have various questions about those coolers....
