Nice idea!! I like the "McGuyver" quality of it. If you put the coil next to the window, do you think you could get your temps a tad bit lower or does your place have pretty good window insulation?

I just received this: http://www.evercool.com.tw/index_eng.htm I've only had it for one day but I like the auto-adjusting feature (it looks like the one you are looking at has it too). The only problem is the product description isn't very detailed. I can't find what temperature it is calibrated too...

I bought a silenx 350W psu with an 80mm silenx fan and it is DAMN silent. I have to put my ear right up to the fins and feel the air on my face to make sure it is even on! I'm not an expert on what decible ratings are in reality, however I can tell you that my silenx psu is SILENT.

How well does a 1U CPU cooler work on a 3000+ 939?

I built my own case really thin and I need a 1U CPU cooler. I have a few questions: -Does a 940 heat sink work with a 939 motherboard? From the looks of it, it is compatible but I would like confirmation.. -What do you all think of this 1U cooler? http://www.evercool.com.tw/products/k8l.asp I know I...

I was trying to play it safe when I picked components. I chose a fanless GeForceFX 5200 GPU (with DVI, VGA and TV-OUT... I am using both VGA and TV-OUT with the 'clone' setting). I have a slim cdrw/dvd that I have burnt cd's with but also I did swap that out for my 5.25" DVDRW and burnt a DVD with n...

With the brick on the desk and it pointing at me, I can't hear the PSU over my CPU fan at 8v. If I unplug the CPU fan I can barely hear a whizzing sound. If I put the brick down behind my desk, It is so faint that I have to point my head and angle my ears to hear it. I am writing this at night with ...

Pictures!

Sorry for the picture quality but you should be fine. :) This is the whole setup. I'm still waiting for one part so I can put it all in the case I built. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/jonoc/psu_wide.jpg This is how it attaches to the motherboard. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/jonoc...

There is no noise that is coming from the board at all. The way you mount it is: there are eight (8) screw holes (of course you don't have to use ALL of them), very similar to motherboard mounting holes. That method has pros and cons. Properly attached, it is very secure, however, creating the mount...

Flo-w: I was actually just playing Half Life 2 with high graphics for about 90 minutes straight. I'd say that's gotta be the most power-intense situation i'll run into. Thanks for the concern. Ask josti about the lex model PSU because that's the one he has. I'll take pictures tonight for ya. roo: Is...

I'm using the 64-bit version for the same reason as Spod. It's worked great so far. All my drivers work so far (haven't tried the printer driver yet...) Saving $100+, you've got to make SOME sacrifices.

Who is using using 32/64-bit versions of Windows?

I am interested in finding out how many of you using Athlon 64's are taking advantage of it's 64-bit architecture.
