The more I think about those plastic tabs the more I agree. I've been looking at those Alphas with the big 80mm fans on them. I can get two pretty quiet 80mms but they'll never be as quiet as a single 120mm blowing down on that whole mess of flower/fin thingies. The 3100s were working adequately too...

Per Zalman's suggestion, I contacted endpcnoise.com it turns out that they just use pull-ties to secure the clips in a criss-cross fashion through the 4 holes on the motherboard.
