Silence isn't as important as efficiency to me, simply because sound is usually only an issue when there is a waste of energy(heat, ..)..

And yes, if you can modify the the 12v power supply (by Morex) you can plug into your car :). All you need is a conversion cable...

I dislike peltiers. They don't deal with the heat, they just move the problem.
They're (in my rather humble opinion) only useful when stacked and watercooled.

I have a really weird problem .. whenever I use my scrollwheel to scroll up or down in IE a strange, high pitched noise comes from my computer. It sounds like a short coil whine . What the hell could this be?

I just got this fan for my SLK800 .. I *love* the fan. I can run it at 12v without hearing it . The sound of my 7v NGML is actually worse than this! It's rathed 21dbA :/

I guess we'll never know until they actually become available :/
