HDD drawers may make the noise from a hdd worse as it is akin to hard mounting them and adding a 40mm fan that duns at full speed. If you are concerned about silence, steer clear of them. However, if you swap hdds a bit or have stuff on hdds that does not need to be accessed all the time, these are ...

That looks to be a re-branded Xilence RED 120mm Fan. (Xilence is brand belonging to Levicom.de). The specs are about right as have one in my PSU. The fan is quiet and in normal operation it should be very quiet and 36dB looks about right for the 120 version. STOP PRESS: I just looked up the specs fo...

Motherboard thumb screws do not exist. The closest that you will get a is a screwless motherboard fixing solution in Theramltake Xaser Wingo cases that uses a special extra tall stand-off that you hook the board over and a plastic pin that locks the board in place. Compared to the normal stand-off/s...

qviri: What you describe is a "feature" of all socket A's, 370's, slot A's, Slots 1's and VIA cpu's. Techno pride is correct in that the boards draw alot of power from the 5V rail. The main reason for this is that the original ATX PSU spec specified alot more current capacity on the 5V rail than cur...

Zalman NB-47K or NBF-47 +Artic Silver 5 for the northbridge. It just looks like a normal gaming rig, just with quiet-ish components with no sign of the inovation that you in the comps that Mike C, Bluefront and others have done in theirs. You could try a little ducting to help the north bridge problem.

A floppy drive will need a floppy cable. Only LS-120/LS-240 SuperDisc drives use ide cables. Either way, none are quiet. No floppy drive is quiet during use, its cos they all are made in pretty much the same way. You shouldn't have any compatability issues with either of the DVD-Roms. If you need re...

you could always take the plunge and get one of these thermaltake turion coolers and if the fan noise gets too much, swap the fan for nexus. you might as well save yer self some money and forget the switch to the Antec P180, as it seems to me pretty pointless if you are short of money. Accoustic Performace Low rpm (1500) gives silent running at 30cm (1ft). At 5cm (2in) there is a faint characteristic bearing rattle. No ai...
