cheers again Duncan
erm it seems mixed opinions on the clickiness, but hopefully ill get non-clicky 4412s, cos apart from that they seem ideal for my case
(just ask Katana man he raves about the papst 4412 fgl's )
thanks again duncan

EKL Papst 120x120x25 fan? ie 4412FGL (in UK)
Hi all :) As some know my planned system with 120mm fans is going ahead nicely, got my SLK3700 and cut out stamped fan grills; must say the case is a mile ahead of my Globalwin802  Onto the fans, I was going to get Papst 120mm 4pin 25mm "4412 FGL" at: http://www.koolnquiet.co.uk/index.php?mai...

Antec 550W louder than the 480W model?? et more...
Evenin all i am gettin an Antec Truepower 480W for its seperate voltage rails. But i see the 550W is only £10 more; if i went for this, would it be any louder? if so i won't get it :P ?? second, for a seperate PC, i need a 350W - 450W PSU, very silent :!: , cheap and more importantly, available in U...

:( oh well, I can handle a 2 degree increase (I wont be turning up fans to compensate though :P ) Thanks for everything Katana Man and everyone else. I just gotta wait for the AcoustiCase to come out, and examine its pricing. Im prepared to pay sub £130 sadly :? So to review: Acousticase Cut out gri...

Indeed you are! They all look good, but the D8000 is easily the sexiest of the lot  Right now though, i'm not prepared to cut away the front bezel. Hopefully the front bezel of the Acousticase is sufficient.. http://www.acoustiproducts.com/images/products/acc6607/6607_front_black_s.gif What d'...

Excellent :o I know the rear is running at 4.9V. Thus I'll use my 5V molex adaptor on the exhaust :) I'd guess that the front is probably around 6V I supose I'll settle for my 7V molex adaptor on the intake then ;) Keep in mind, I have no fan grills, case vents are cut out, and no fan filters. The o...

Cheers Katana Man... Actually, I'm able to adjust it even more with my Zalman fan controller. Any approximations on the voltages for front and rear fans? I want to keep my computer simple by just using 7V and 5V fan converters, so would a 5V 4412 @ rear and 7V 4412 @ intake be okay (perhaps your vol...

great stuff, the man himself, katana Man  I'm basing my silent rig on yours (lets hope!) Papst 4412's 120x25mm in front and back. Slow the rear one down as slow as possible. Run the front slightly faster than the rear, and hope that the PSU has enough ooomph to move air as well Thats exactly ...

Also, I much prefer the black colour to the Antec Metallic Brown  It is much easier to match drives and its easy to get black floppy drives for instance. Also, it comes with no PSU reducing the price hopefully. Really, it comes down to how much they are charging for this pre-dampened case. If...

thanks for that Personally I feel that anybody who is serious about silencing would want a door Indeed, but Katana Man (as if hes my idle  ) does not have a door and yet his rig is silent. Plus, I find I rarely use my CD drives as I prefer the no-hassle approach of no-cds :P If the AcoustiCase...

Thanks all remove fan filter??? Its because the very same Dorothy informed that they reduce airflow about 30% i think it was, and increase noise. I dont mind just giving it a clean every month or so. Just use one fan -- rear, exhaust. I will indeed start off with just one rear fan (the 120mm Papst 3...

cheers bat  well, using the rear fan as intake goes againt the conventions of case cooling!? Cool air comes in below, gets warmed and thus rises, is exhausted by rear fan. Zalman Fan Bracket
I was thinking instead of using say a 7V 90mm fan on the SLK900, woudn't i be better off using a zalman fan bracket with a 120mm, 7/5v'd of course. as this would be quieter whilst pushing more air, and cool the mobo + graphics card I would suspect. is there any probs with this, am I missing somethin...
