Cool site....a much needed one in the world of silent computing.

Anyhow, just wanted to drop in. I became obsessed with silent computing ever since I bought my first Shuttle SV24 babrebones. Anyone who has seen (or heard) this system up and running, they know how incredibly loud it is. It's accoustic traits just do not fit it's physical appearance.

So after some research, I made my SV24 DEAD silent with the help of some low flow fans and the addition of a VIA C3 cpu which can run fanless.

I also built a webstore for anyone interested in the stuff I am interested in...silence

kurtl,

A number of people over a viahardware.com forums have the SS50 and are complaining about the noise. It seems that the power source fan is once again the main offender.

It is true that the other fans in the system are thermally controlled. But the noisy psu fan negates that improvement.
