Shuttle SS51 XPC

anandtech.com has an in depth review of the new Shuttle mini-pc. Looks to be both quiet and powerful. They've also got some good pics of Shuttle's very cool heatpipe heatsink and fan. I love to be able to buy just one of those.

Greatest part of this review was the mention that a Nforce2 version of this is forthcoming. That will be the stuff right there...

The Nforce2/AMD version does sound better and more modern:)

Same Hammer/Prescots are around the corner, but those Shuttles are quite upgradable anyhow.

There are many other Mini Pcs with similar tech/performance but overall the Shuttles seem to do everything the best:)

Looks like you could fit a TKPower fanless PSU in there.

That would make for a high performance system cooled by a single fan!

Not a cheap one, though.

I really like the look of the Shuttle SS51, it's the first mini PC that has me seriously considering the format - especially for its lack of noisy fans (bar one) and its heatpipe technology.

The only thing that I'd like to find out more about is whether the 200W mini power supply that they use is up to the drain that a full P4 2.5GHz/Nvidia Ti4600 system would place on it. The specs Anandtech quotes are pretty good: "The 200W power supply delivers 10A on the +12V and 20A on the +5V rails." - but I have my concerns!

Also I think I'll wait for the Nforce2/Socket A(Athlon) version...
