Hi,

I also researched the option of relocating my PC to another room, but I got stuck with the VGA cable as well. Switched to USB for keyboard and mouse; extending audio was no problem, but the video was, at least, if you plan to use high bandwidth 1280x1024 85+Hz resolutions. Bought a Belkin replacement cable, but the image quality became very poor. HQ video cables are extremely expensive -- i refused to pay $200+ for such a cable, instead i bought a fairly cheap 10ft shielded one, and moved the PC behind a closet.

Now, with TFT flatpanels becoming cheaper and cheaper, and some of them having digital DVI connectors, maybe these can be extended more economically

High quality VGA cables are not cheap, and you didn't say what length you had in mind. Also, Belkin does NOT make good (video) quality cables. Use this site for cables that are built with video quality cable from Canare, Belden, or equivalent, and sell for appropriate prices.
