Article on silencing a 1.2GHz Athlon

Post by po » Tue Aug 20, 2002 1:05 am

Hi, I finally decided to write up an article detailing the conclusions from my experiences with silencing my Athlon. I'd be interested in whether any of you might have any suggestions/comments, and whether SPCR would be interested in linking to the page. It is located at

http://meditation.caltech.edu/silence.shtml

Thanks, and enjoy,

Cool Article dude, why don't u try lining the inside of the case with acoustic foam, it'll deaden some of the noise.

Just a couple of questions, Po:

1) How's the machine holding up as a web server? (I'm having trouble reaccessing the page...)
2) The Zalman 92mm fan is probably the loudest thing in your system. Why not replace it with a Papast or Panaflo?
3) The system is running a ramdisk, meaning your cuda is not being used?
