It figures... I lurk and I lurk and read and read, and the day AFTER I spend $150 on fans, heatsinks, and power supplies SPCR reviews PSUs and informs me that I could have got more for less.

what'd u get? if u spent that much on a setup u'd have the QUIESTEST setup, maybe enuff for 2

does he mean the tomshardware psu review? As far as power supplies go, i am thinking of getting a zalman or a 430w true antec as im not trying to make a completely silent pc but one that will barely be audible when under my desk.

1 fan vs 2: min noise difference at 1m will be ~5 dBA; 3 dBA for the extra fan & 2 for extra turbulence noise. The Zalman is plainly quieter, as SPCR's recommended PSU chart indicates. See my caution about the THG review here: http://forums.silentpcreview.com/forums ... php?t=2210

My shopping list looked like this:
Antec True Power 380 per toms hardware review.
Swiftech MCX462+ Per SPCR recommandations
3x Panaflo 80mm Case Fan (Model FBA08A12L)

How could I get two for $150? This doesn't even cover the GPU or the northbridge fans....
