Was looking to see if my latest bright idea has been patented already (don't ya just hate that?) when I stumbled across an international Sony patent application for the above. Here's their ever-so-original scheme: use a heat pipe to move heat from any devices in a box, to a heatsink mounted at the air intake port, and use an exhuast fan to discharge the air from the other side of the box. Hmmmmm, sounds really unique don't it? Who'd have thought of that one eh? I think we can all hope they don't get the patent, or we'll all have to pay royalties if we duct/ventilate our computers their (?) way. It's a stranger world the more closely you look.

On the bright side, I seem to have a patentable idea! (judging from the above, that might not be saying much) Of course, it involves CPU cooling, and heat pipes. Just a new and (hopefully) viable twist that might make a really big improvement. Of course I am thinking quiet first and formost :)

paw crisspy, on a more serious cynical side though, is that when most inventors think up of a idea they usually release a product and then someone else picks up on it and makes a squillion copies of it but changes it just enuff to screw you out of the royalties :( but keep inventing setup a online store to sell your invention, make a killing then get out by selling patent to someone :)

Nothing is impossible: Somethings are not worth the effort to achieve.
