Hello,
Can I use a case fan like the Enermax UC-001B-TC on a heat sink:?: Or, do I have to get a fan made specifically for CPU cooling:?:
Thanks,
Derek

it depends what cpu you're running and how big is your heatsink. we probably need more info to answer your q.

Yeah we will need to know what HS you are using. But if it can take an 80mm, then any 80mm fan should do. I have a papst 80mm NGML on my P4s Alpha 8942T.

I have a ThermalRight AX7 but it is too large too fit on my mohterboard. An Epox 8kA. Can anyone recommend a heatsink that I could use with the Enermax fan?

Thanks,
Derek

falloutboy: If your running it at stock i would think 7V to the NGML would be fine. Im running mine at about 9V but i have a 1.8A OCed to 2.4GHz, with the VCore up at 1.575V. At 7V it will be completley inaudible, given that its inside your case and your PSU will probably be much louder. Im using the Q-Tech 300W PSU and its by far my loudest item.

You may want to experiment with the fan blowing onto and away from the HS. Alphas work better blowing away, but may be more noisy like this.
