Want to build a SILENT DVR what MOBO ITX or uATX

Post by DavdJ » Mon Dec 23, 2002 12:50 pm

Dear Silent Forum:

I have my main PC quiet now, Zalman PS, Suspended drives, Zalman glued to my radon 8500, replaced the fan on north bridge, nero drive speed on DVD .........

On to the next project, and it needs to be silent as a VCR. I want to build a DVR. Should I use the mini-itx with an EPIA-M, will it have enough power?? 933 MHZ still has a fan, but I've read it can be 5 volted with no problem. Seagae baracuda, DC notebook PS, should be real quiet, but will it be powerful enough??

OR AMD SFF PC, need to sort out the PS. Don't really want to drop $200 on a fanless PS, that is a bit steep. Can a cheap SFF PS be fan modded??

In either case, need a Radon 7500 AIW will the Zalman work??

Thanks for input

I am using the Zalman single sided video card cooler on an AIW Radeon 64MB VIVO (which I think is a 7200). It works great.
