Does your board support Speedfan? List it here!
As I think this is an important feature anyone who wants to build a silent pc I'm trying to get a list of the boards that work or not with this program.
Place your post even if your board doesn't support it!
-Abit Kt7a (no raid): no fan control

With my Tyan Tiger MP I was able to monitor the temps (didn't try fan control), but I was having a even harder time rebooting than normal when using speedfan. Sometimes when I go "restart" from Win2k, everything shuts down fine and the screen blanks out, but then the BIOS screen never comes back. With speedfan, it happened way more often.

Speedfan works with one of the three motherboard fan connectors on my P4PE so I connect the CPU to that connector.
*BUT* someone on the ASUS Boards Forum said he once got Speedfan to control another case fan connector by 'fluke' -- it suddenly started working after he used Asus Probe software and got some software error or something. It does seem in principle possible to control another case fan then.
I really wish I could get it working with one more. I wrote the author of Speedfan but never heard back.

On my ASUS A7V333 only the CPU-fan is monitored, but Speedfan can't influence it's speed.
Another sensor reports 15 degrees C while the hardware is working for 12 hours in a 21 degrees C environment.
ASUS PROBE goes nuts when loaded together with Speedfan.
Some info from SMART is present, but apart from temperature it is not correct or not usefull.
I'll try it later once more, but for the moment it doesn't seem usefull
Regards, Han.

SpyderCat - I have the A7V333 Mobo too!
CPU Connector: Controlled by Mobo, as you say Speedfan can read but not control. I haven't tried turning Q-Fan off - maybe that might allow Speedfan to control it.
Case Connectors 1+2: Allows good control of the fans. Works well for me.
I also have that never changing 15 degree reading! Bizarre!
As for CPU fan control, I simply plug my CPU fan into one of the case connectors and control it with Speedfan that way. I leave the Q-Fan controlled CPU connector free. Q-Fan is good but Speedfan allows more flexibility, I find.
Hope that's of help

Soyo SY-TISU supports Speedfan
Soyo SY-TISU, a socket 370 motherboard which features cpu undervolting and PIII/Tualatin/Celeron processor support, works nicely with Speedfan on the cpu fan connector. Have not tested any of the other connectors, since I am not using any case fans.

I also have A7V333 (rev 1.04). PWM1/Speed01 in Speedfan controls BOTH Fan2 (Power) and Fan3 (Chassis) simultaneously. I did some beta testing for Alfredo for 4.07 and could never get more than 1 control from Speedfan. Enabling/disabling QFan didn't help me, but you can run QFan (for the CPU fan) and Speedfan at the same time. Seems Alfredo had a change of life round October 2002 (went to Uni?) and so hasn't had any time to update the prog, which is a shame.jaypers wrote:SpyderCat - I have the A7V333 Mobo too!

That 15C temp is from the JTPWR sensor: you probably dont have a thermistor connected there hence the rather constant reading. If you get a thermistor on that header (IIRC 4k7, maybe 10k?) you can get some more useful readings.
A7V8X works somewhat
But only the two case fans. The CPU fan is controlled by Asus Q-Fan (which for reasons beyond my understanding only goes down to 2/3 of the normal fan speed, e.g. a 2400 rpm fan will run with at least 1600 rpm and not slower, even if the CPU is cool as ice ...).
SpeedFan can only control the two other fans and only seems to set the speed of both fans simultaniously. Took me a while to figure that out.
So I have my CPU fan plugged on the case fan connector and control it with SpeedFan and my case fan is controlled by a ntc diode.
Bye egghat.

SpeedFan works with all three fans on my Asus P4PE w/ GbLan, SATA Raid and firewire. It also can control all three fans on my Asus P3B-F.

Positive has worked for me, and continues to work. Gives me 3 temps, and controls for 2 fans. I have adjusted the fan speeds, however there is a slight lag <5 seconds, between adjustment and audible difference in the fans.lurker wrote:Wha? Are you sure? I have the non-plus version, and it definitely doesn't work.Dorzak wrote:Epox 8RDA+ Works and can control the fan speeds for 2 of the fans (CPU and 1 case fan)
