does it just not work or do people dont try this?

browsing at best buy today i noticed they have those little mini refrigerators for bars and such.. even a temprature controled one with a glass door for wines.
also ones with more room because the freezer unit was left out.

the cheapest one was just a little over 100$ with the most expensive (temp controlled one) at around 300$
i bet there are even comercial freezers or fridges like the little ones with the sliding door by the checkout line at super markets.. some places must throw these out...
i havn't researched it much but i'm sure there are medical or labratory coolers with temp control for keeping chemicals at a certain temp and humidity level.

i don't have the funds to try this yet but what could be the harm in sticking a mobo, inside a fridge? the only worry i have is moisture but there must be a simple way of taking moisture out.

anyway.. how much condensation will there be inside a fridge that barely cools drinks?

i'd really like to hear what others have to say about this theory.

I believe the main problem is condensation, i.e. everytime you open up the fridge to insert a CD, you introduce moisture to the whole system.
Very funny
I think that to remove condensation isn't very easy task. Good refrigerators with minimal condensation are used for labaratory and medicine purposes only (for ex search tritec). And these goodies very expencive. Plus you can't leave holes for wires floppy or smth else.

The biggest problem is, that most fridges aren't designed to run continously. If you study your fridge, you'll notice that the pump switches on, and switches off after a while. You can set the thermostat to force the pump to stay on for longer, but not indefinatly - The pump would die.

A computer produces a lot of heat continously, and the fridge would be forced to keep the pump running in an attempt to keep things cool, but that would lead to premature fridge death.

The ones you see in supermarkets, the biiiig ones, well they do run pretty much all the time, but then they're industrial sized ones

I considered this option for a bit, too, but in conjunction with a watercooling system (i.e., the reservoir tank inside a small fridge, not the whole system). On the plus side was instant access to sodas and snacks. The minus side, however, included the fact that, if this was an attempt to silence my system...well, refrigerators aren't very silent, now are they.

It is totally doable, as the folks at Fragware.net have shown in thier projects section. Unless they've changed the link, go to http://www.fragware.net/index.php?page=article&id=13 and check it out, or just look for it in thier projects section.
