Weird speedfan readings

Post by Bjarke » Thu Feb 04, 2010 3:39 am

Hi.

I recently installed speedfan and I'm getting some very weird readings.
First of all:

Temp1: 33C
Temp2: 30C

so far so good. Aren't quite sure what Temp1 and Temp2 are refering too but I'm guessing some sensors on the mobo? Anyway 30 degrees sounds fine no matter what. Here comes the weird part. The next temp:

Temp3: -128C
- And yes. There's a minus in front of the 128 degrees oO

The rest seems fine:

HD0: 33C
Core: 14C

My system specs is as follows:
Mobo: ASUS M4A785G (with onboard Radeon HD 4200)
CPU: AMD 240e 2,8 GhZ (passively cooled with Scythe Minja)
HD: Western digital Green, 500GB

I know alot of you use speedfan so I hope someone will be able to explain the -128 degree reading - that's just weird :)

All help and advice will be much appreciated.

Hi Bjarke,

It sounds like there is a sensor on the motherboard that is not compatible with Speedfan, that's all.

Ok. Thanks.
I'll ignore it and enjoy my new htpc then :)

That reading is a false reading. Every board has it and nobody knows where its comes from :P
