BTW digitX/SilenX/digitalX  I just cannot reconcile your negative remarks about Mike Chin and Ralf Hutter's reviews on the Super Tornado PSUs. Your statement was definitely unfounded and unecessary...what's the difference between SPCR and yourself? Mike and the reviewers analyze products in a scientific fashion (that has helped numerous people like myself achieve VERY silent systems) while you write up misleading threads in forums to persuade people that the SilenX PSU is super-dee-duper -- and THAT'S A BIG DIFFERENCE!

MGP, just so you know, I deactivated both digitX and Javaflash accs ~a day ago. I wanted to make sure he could not go back and erase/edit his posts -- destroy the evidence, so to speak.

I've also deleted Javaflash's nasty report on his Seasonic RMA experience, which appears to everyone here to be complete fabrication; it just didn't seem fair to have that negative info on the site when it's one competitor badmouthing another.

In turth, if the fella was innocent, he would just have registered as a new user and fought back in his defense. Given that he had no compunction about multiple accs here already, there's little reason to think he wouldn't do this if he thought he was being unfairly accused & abused.

As Trip already said:
There's no reason for digitX to run off; no one accused him of anything, just respectfully asked him a few questions.

Oh, wait. I'm fine. Mine isn't a capitalized x. ;)

shunx, I am not sure if you are being facetious while simultaneously having sympathy for member's concerns about the identity of digitX, or, if you are saying just the opposite: that members are "jumping the gun" on this matter, and being a bit paranoid with no cause.

Well, whichever the case, I can assure you that the discrepancies being pointed out here by MikeC are valid concerns. If you are interjecting the "witch hunt" theory as an effort to keep things light, attempting to point out the comical similarities of this thread with the increasing conspiratorial state of paranoia that society seems to be currently finding facination with, then cool, I can appreciate humor.

However, if you advocating that an unfounded "witch hunt" is taking place then I only urge you to go back and read the litany of posts made by SilenX associates under the various accounts (namely digitalx, if memory serves me correctly). These accounts, while actually being quite instructive on the nature of PSU's in certain instances, were seemingly created for the express purpose of promoting SilenX products. It was a deceptive activity and many members immediately boycotted the company upon the arrival of this news, and proceeded to chastise PK and his associates with post upon post that expressed their view of the practice that SilenX had engaged in.

Wedge - I hope I speak for MGP, shunx, Zyzzyx & wussboy: my post on witch was only intended as a sub-plot for some humour.

I absolutely agree & support MikeC in his questioning and actions over digitX. While we mostly 'hide' behind pseudonyms, that does not stop 'peer review' and criticism. And while I (for example) occasionally propogate some of my contrary views, I do try to defend them with the best logic/facts/context I can, from a single userid. Similar for 99.9% of the other folk around here. Anyone who fails to meet this kind of basic/reasonable standard deserves sanction, to try keep SPCR a good reference site rather than a garbage collection!

Equally, the digitaliX/PK saga means I take every opportunity I can to advise folks that there are 2 SilenX vendors out there, 1 of whom is reputable and the other, IMHO, is decidedly NOT.

dukla, don't worry, I'm not a humorless person by any stretch. It's easy to see that you were joking. I just wasn't sure if shunx was serious or not. If he's serious, then I wasn't sure if he knew the history (all the digitalx threads, then the "who is digitalx" thread that tells all).

It's just that I was about to change my name to WedgeX until I read shunx's post (j/k :))

btw, I do love humor at the this forum. You can see my feeble attempts at it from time to time.

dukla2000, which is the good silentX vendor? heh, I know who the bad one is.

Wedge, I doubt shunx was being serious, he's made a few posts. Too much effort to just give up your cover like that. UNLESS, that's what he wants us to think!

oh wait, but you thought he might just be serious about the witch hunt statement. I doubt he meant that seriously; digitX was suspicious.

No one picked up on my Hamlet quote? I thought that was pretty good, I had a list of famous Hamlet quotes here from English class...

Yeah, I suppose he was joking -- giving him the benefit of the doubt. I hope I didn't sound accusatory and too defensive.

This is sort of OT for this thread, but I thought it was amusing, while at the same time not quite important enough for its own thread. And since it's generally bashing ol' Pete and SilenX its not completely OT:

We present, the SilenX MCX-478V! This is the ultimate silent heatsink for your Socket 478 based Pentium 4/Celeron system! Featuring a massive copper base and hundreds of helical heat dissipating rods arranged in a thermally efficient manner, you won't find anything else out there that comes remotely close! Verax and Papst based heatsinks cost more and perform worse, why bother? For a limited time, we're offering this heatsink and fan combination with the fan pre-installed on the heatsink! Save big while supplies last!

You wanted a high quality, extreme performance heatsink with the lowest noise level possible. Well, your wait is now over. Move over Zalman, Verax, Thermalright...or any other so-called "silent" heatsinks out there. There's simply no match for this offering. Featuring the quietest air-cooled heatsink for your Intel Pentium 4 processors, this is for those who want performance but don't want the hassle of dealing with water-cooling. For a limited time, we're offering these preassembled with our fans installed! Get it now!
You know, part of me wonders if Swiftech even knows about this.

Move over Zalman and Thermalright? I don't think so Silenx. Yes, I think it would be interesting to learn if Swiftech is aware of the advertisement (of course, SilenX could have legally rebadged the heatsink with some licensing agreement with Swiftech, but it's always more fun to assume otherwise, heheheh. ).

The funny thing is, that's actually a picture of the MCX-462V, the heatsink for AMD's and they're selling it as an S478 P4 heatsink. They can't even steal other peoples' products correctly.

I sent Swiftech an email with a link to that page. We''ll see if they like it.
