Nice review as always but useless piece of hardware at least for me, just like all other "netbooks".keyboard and LCD are small too. The screen's resolution is low, and with no digital video output, nor hardware acceleration for high definition video, it is best suited for playing standard definition material. While Atom is energy efficient, its performance is anemic; the hardware is only suitable for basic tasks

Just out of curiosity, how was 7 using the 600MB? Was it Cached or Available? Vista and 7 use a different memory caching method then XP, so comparing them takes some care.
An interesting review, especially as I am considering replacing my current Thinkpad X32 at some point. A few thoughts:
- For H.264 playback try CoreAVC. It's much faster than other decoders and allows my Pentium M 1.8GHz Thinkpad to play back 720p with only very occasional dropped frames. On an Atom D510 it should cope without problems if my D510MO benchmarks are accurate.
- It uses a Realtek card which is supported by aircrack and Backtrack runs nicely from a flash drive.
I have been looking at ultra miniature netbooks with 5" screens. They really do fit in your pocket and the keyboards are not bad, better than mobile phone ones at least. Best of all they really do fit in your pocket. On the downside you only get a few gigs of flash storage. Some have Atoms and some have ARM CPUs running Ubuntu. Battery life on the ARM ones is in the 20 hour range.

I use the Asus EEE because I need one with a long battery life for use in the campo. I think the netbook linked to would be preferable future netbook for me. I really like my 510 desktop.
