Introduction to Recommended Silent / Quiet Components

Post by NeilBlanchard » Mon Jul 24, 2006 7:00 am

Greetings,

I appreciate this new introduction:

http://www.silentpcreview.com/article26-page1.html

And skimming the recomended sections, I notice that the CPU and Fan sections really need to be updated. The CPU section seems to list every CPU before a year ago (or so) and doesn't help narrow the choices very much. There are too many old (and no longer available) models, and some current models are there (yet).

The Fans section needs to at least have the "interesting fans" list updated to include the likes of GlobalWin NCB and Scythe DF and/or S-Flex models. Is the Panasonic still the SPCR reference?

^Typo? I agree that some sections are seriously in need of an update; perhaps, if the editorial team is stretched for time, some of the more knowledgable and keen posters can be nominated "honorary" editors in order to carry out upating duties? for example, Felger Carbon for fans, ?? for CPU's.
