Hi Mike,

Good review as always. I'm disappointed with the lack of WiFi -- a tiny portable unit that you have to plug in doesn't make sense to me.

The lack of a VESA mount is only on the Q100 I think, Lenovo's website advertises a monitor mount for the Q110.

However, I'm more interested in the Q700. It's a bit pricier, but with an E5200 processor, that thing would beat any eeeBox or similar system in terms of performance and is still relatively compact.

How many dc volts does the brick put out? 19v, 12v or ?

No optical drive on the eee pc. Virtually no nettop seems to have one.

It's what we really wanted to review but the Q100 is what they had for now. Next, hopefully soon.

Who is buying these? I've wanted to play with one, but I am struggling to find a use for it.

A PC for my parents? Nope, their Athlon 2400+ is probably faster and free. A PC for the living room? Nope, not enough CPU or GPU for video
A PC for the kids? Maybe, but why not get a cheap desktop that they won't outgrow in a year, or a netbook for the same price that comes with a screen.
A home server? No space for HDs

Seriously, I would love one, but, why?

Well, at least is shows that fanless operation is within reach, even for small atom-systems.

Big deal. Plug in an external USB drive (50-60USD) if you need to

I personally would go with Atom'ed notebook instead of this not-upgradedable box.

You still have to plug in at the very least power and display, andm for many people, keyboard if not mouse too. It's not that portable. Wifi would be nice, I agree (how about making the casing an antenna so you don't need the stick antenna out the back either?), and I do see the problem with not necessarily having an ethernet socket nearby, but it's not the end of the world.

Look familiar? At least this has wifi if but an add-on and not embedded.

So who makes this? Which company is doing the rebranding? Or is Targa actually Lenovo in Germany?

Targa just rebrands things (or in the case of some of their desktops, at least a few years ago, builds from off the shelf components). Their laptops are MSI (and.. not so good).
