What is this about the C2D E7500 2.93GHz booting up in 38 seconds while the Core i5-650 3.2GHz takes 1:01?

Why would that be?

great review. I pay attention to "workstation" as key word...

I am on an 875p with 3400 mhz ,hyper threaded.. a 725mhz card and 10.1 (dx 11 installs on its own with windows 7)...and I run with old school discipline (shut down everything not needed)

to this very day, I would rather what I am running for vid edits than even this lenovo workstation...

the workstation chipset is intriguing, but matx on giant cpu, for us that know..is well..not good. add big power as needed and bam, its all done prematurely.

my own take on this.. do not go bigger than what they shipped for the test on the cpu, and power..they no doubt have it maxxed already...

great attempt, but still a pathetic pansy for my purpose...andmy purpose islonger than 10-15 minutes at a time.. I gho all night ltting it stay full throttle. thislenovo is not for pros.

What on Earth are you trying to say ? Did you even bother to read what you wrote or did you like me, tried, got headache and then gave up ?
"mATX on giant CPU" ?

What does that mean ? You do know (hopefully) that SIZE of chips has NO relevance on its performance ?
thislenovo is not for pros.
Well...that I would not say.

Do some proofreading for gods sake before posting. Nowadays you can actually have FF or IE do it for you, that way people can actually understand you.
And I thought that they spoke English in Maine.......

add big power as needed and bam, its all done prematurely
What does that mean ?

On topic: Nice review SPCR. Very nice to see Lenovo using rubber insulators on fans. Somebody has been visiting SPCR there

Because in booting CPU has very small part. HD speed is responsible for like 80% of time it takes. Rest is drivers loading(partly HD dependent too), BIOS initiation (POST) and so on. CPU has to wait on data from HD 99% of the time.
An I9 980X will boot slower that E7200 if E7200 has faster HD to boot from.

I think the case looks pretty nice to me from the outside... simple, black elegant. Open front airflow. Perhaps the reviewer has racing stripes on the front of his case :P

The world's best spellcheck won't help if the sentences don't make sense.

I always liked the design of Thinkcentres and Thinkstations.
