Great blog for the day.

The single slot 6850 looks awesome :) yum. green power even better.

I really love the lesson on LCD's. That is fantastic. I noticed it ended with TFT explanation. What is the difference then to my IPS monitor? I know it can present more color complexity and clarity etc, (and costs like 3x as much lol). But just wondering...

I accidentally left out a URL in the first submission of the news today. For anyone that reads this before it's corrected the URL is here.

Thanks, I'm going to take another crack at fixing my mistakes shortly but it's nice to know the work is appreciated.

Looking at the table at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TFT_LCD#In ... _.28IPS.29 it seems the terms TFT and IPS are used for too many types of screens to make any certain comments on differences. Who knows what you have compared to that mess of terminology :o

edit: after further reading it appears TN Film, S-IPS, MVA and PVA are panel types and TFT is a term that applies to more than one panel type so the answer for you is: There is no difference between TFT and IPS they are terms of a different classification.
