Samuel 17 looks like it might be a decent option for low profile passive cooling, the fin spacing is much larger than the Big Shuriken. But if you're going to attach a fan to it, the Big Shuriken does seem like the better buy.

Not too bad results for the half MK-13. 
Pity the price doesn't reflect that. I think the quality difference between it and any Scythe is worth an extra premium but not that much.
Surprised you didn't pair it with a Slim Slipstream.

I could have sworn you guys tested the Thermalright AXP-140, but I'm not seeing it now. It would be interesting to see that compered to the Samuel 17 since the current mITX cube cases can handle it.

Is it just me, or did anyone else think of VIA C3 processors when seeing "Samuel?" 
I might still have one of those hidden among the few Ezra C3 processors sitting in my garage. Those were my first attempts (waaaayyy BITD) at quiet computing.

Seems all the hype about GELID fans being decent is all faults and they don't just can't compare to the Nexus, S-flex.

Is the Samuel 17 a perfect fit for a Sugo SG05? The 71mm height seems to fit perfectly under the 78mm clearance of a SG05. Even more clearance if you use a Scythe 120x12mm fan.

I'm curious how the Gelid Slim Silence compares with Silverstone's NT07, particularly the newer NT07 for LGA 1156 CPUs.

any reviews on the intel version.... i'd probably be only running with a corei3 at a push an i5
