Is the HDD bay wide enough for elastic suspension?

The case would be nearly flawless if there where better ventilation in the door.

Ever since reviewing the case myself I've been thinking of ways to enhance the intake.. Maybe I should just switch one of the front fans to the bottom intake and be done with it.

I really liked the case, and the Youtube-bash-athon really makes me sad, as do the people who blindly just go by the one video review..

Thanks once again for a high quality review!

I most certainly agree! If it wasn't for the poor front ventilation, and perhaps the HDD bay being too thin to properly suspend a 3,5" HD (or not enough 5,25" bays to suspend a HD while having fan controller & CD-drive), I would jump right onto that case (figuratively, but maybe it could handle it literally).

Seriously, this case really seems worth my hard earned money.

Lawrence, thanks so much for your thorough and timely review of the NZXT H2 ! A bunch of us on the boards were very curious about this one.
After I watched a negative review of this case on youtube, however, I wrote it off. Your review has given me second thoughts.

Questions:

1). On the youtube video review, the guy said the paint and finish were of extremely poor quality. Also, that the optical drive bay clips were flimsy and easily breakable. Finally, that the inside had rough and sharp edges.
Could you possibly comment on these?

2). Is the front door by any chance reversible?

3). How easy/difficult would it be to suspend HDDs?

Thanks again for the review! Appreciate it.

I've just added a postscript on how to improve the intake in a simple, unobtrusive way -- http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1188-page9.html

MikeC, you're the best!

Now I'm almost certain that I'm going to buy the NZXT H2. I assume that it will also be available in the smaller, sometimes "forgotten" countries like Denmark where I live.

To me it seems like plenty of room to suspend a couple of HDDs in a vertical orientation.

As for ventilation improvement there are a few other less intrusive options as well:
- Add short legs to improve the bottom intakes.
- Remove some or all of the foam on the door to provide a wider passage of the air to reach all fan areas.

Cheers
Olle

-- legs don't change the blocking effect of the VGA card to airflow from a bottom mounted fan.
-- that foam on the front is very thin, removing it would have no effect whatsoever on airflow. Much of the door seems to be hollow space; it is very thick.

But raising up the case might benefit VGA cooling with a bottom fan? I think I need to mod my upcoming case a bit.

Legs will definitely provide more air to the bottom intakes.

Even a long VGA card doesn't block the airflow much, since there's a comparatively wide gap between the card and the side panel.

NZXT H2 looks like a revised P182 .... which is not a bad thing.
USB3.0, Switches on TOP, backplate cutout for CPU cooler, built-in fan controller etc

Being a P182 user, I am impressed by this case. :D

Am I the only one disappointed that NZXT chose not to provide mounting holes for a 120 mm top fan?

To the reviewer or anyone who has experienced the H2: How have you been able to remove the harddisk right after you've mounted the HD? Since you have to bend the plastic bay to mount the HD, then how do I remove the HD when it is completely impossible tobend the plastic bay since the HD is stuck? No reviewer (at all) has mentioned this flaw, but perhaps that's just me.

The mod described in page 9? I have done it. It was quite easy (I have virtually no experiences with saws). You just need to use the right tools. I'll post some pictures when I have the time, I'm quite busy at the moment.

Because i feel this has not been advertised enough i have to let everyone know this case probably no longer have the front intake problem. The H2 i bought in november 2011 didn't have this issue. Also SPCR has confirmed the AVA direct SPCR certified quiet PC did not have this issue either.

Link to text about the H2 case for the AVA direct PC not having the intake issues.
