Looks like a very good cooler, however I would be very concerned about how much the graphics card twists with the weight of this cooler and 2 fans.

Arctic includes this with their new Twin Turbo 690

Prolimatech really needs to do the same.

Methinks coming up with a decent VGA cooler support of some kind should be easy for any PC enthusiast capable of swapping out a VGA cooler or installing a CPU cooler. An insulated piece of wire from the top of the PC to "hang" the back end of the cooler, or a little piece of wood wedged in under w/ a plastic tie or 2.... It's not rocket science, it's barely Lego.

The weight concerns me overall too. The size doesn't seem to be much bigger than my years old accelero solution + fan. The Accelero is much lighter however.

I remember their MK-13? had a bracket that was screwed on to the pci slots, and the fan(s) went on that, so no added weight by the fans, neat. I wish case manufacturers built support brackets of sorts into their designs, like the TJ-08E.

About the size, I think since these solutions use so many slots, could there possibly be a way to make use of all that space better? I've always thought if a heatsink could be made that would better take advantage of the mostly horizontal flowing airflow in a case, perhaps performing better considering a fan would probably be placed in the cases' intake area, or even within the case, but flowing horizontally. Take the CPU for example, every cooler now gets direct airflow, from intake to heatsink to exhaust out the back. Efficient! I'd like to see a design that did this with graphics cards =P.

Very easy! Re-useable cable tie + twist tie is all you need:

That's what I'm talking about!

Is that supposed to be an excuse for manufacturers being so miser they can't spare a few cents to include one?

Hardly... but it is a trivial challenge for the user... and my guess is that most DIY solutions will actually be better than any "manufactured" device for this purpose, because they simply will not be able to anticipate and provide for every permutation of video card + other components in every system, while the user only has to come up with one solution, for his own setup. Maybe just a few long zap straps and a hole or two on the HS where these things can be looped would be enough.

Any point in running this passively, given some amount of case airflow?

Thanks for the review...and for MikeC, some Lego rocket science.

I have this little contraption from Powercolor. Sure, it costs a little bit of money, but stays out of the way once set up.

Prolimatech really needs to do the same.
Are these in any way adjustable? If no, then what about cases that have bottoms at various, hmm, depths?

And for the brand aware lot there is also the Scythe Ninja Wire

What is the improvement over the prolimatech mk-13? The mk-13 is much more versatile, mounts the fans to the case and you can use the same fan bracket to support the GPU/cooler assembly, so it has no droopies.

Not adjustable, you cut it accordingly.

Still it's better than nothing.

It's huge and ludicrous. I kinda want it.

Why were the Thermalright Shaman results not included in the results of this review?
