Given its popularity and price/performance sweet spot, where's the 212 Evo review? It'd be nice to see it stacked up to the rest, the AR01 especially. Seems conspicuously absent.

I think it's very nice to see any tower CPU coolers in the 30-50 USD region. As the results show these can easily cool many contemporary CPU's. It's also nice to see some competition to the CM Hyper 212 EVO.

Thanks for the review. Looks like Silverstone joins the 'very nice cooler with mediocre fan' crowd.

Since the mounting holes stayed the same, i'd guess the best heatpipe 1155 coolers will qualify as candidates.

This is going off-topic. Perhaps you can start a new thread.

Does anyone know if the AR01 (or indeed any heatsink) can it be mounted in either orientation? By that I mean so that in a tower case the fins spread out horizontally?

I see from the image in the review that the heatsink is normally mounted parallel to the rear of the motherboard. I want to mount it the other way if possible. I have a Antec Mini P180 so want to make use of the large top fan to extract heat.

If it makes any difference my motherboard is a Intel LGA 1155/Socket H2 type. Thanks

All Intel sockets have symmetrical mounting holes, so unless there's some unusual physical feature on your board, this HS would mount fine either way.
