AMD A10-6800K review (vs i3-2100 for an home server)

Hi everyone
I've just finished reading the http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1350-page3.html review.
While power consumption is low, it is nothing exceptional, in idle (where home servers usually stay most of the time), compared even to an i7!
..but the worst thing seems to be.. that every modern platform still consumes more power than the 'old' (Jan 2011) i3-2100t+DH67BL http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1143-page5.html

I'm missing something here or that one is still the platform of choice for a low-power home server?

Thanks everyone!

You do compare plattforms, not single CPUs. That's because no AMD cpu will run in an intel mainboard.

Besides, for a "low power" home server both i3 and A10 are way oversized.

And looking at idle values can lead to wrong perceptions... if i own a 1969 V8 Caddy you'll be surprised to hear that when idle in garage with engine off my 1969 Caddy does not use more fuel than a new Audi TDI under the same circumstances.
