This is a long article from a couple years ago. Has there been any newer reviews for silent normal platter HD's of 2Tb? Or are the finding here still stable.

To me its very quiet drive, i use it on two external enclosures and on my laptop as storage, i cant hear it on any of my applications, SPCR didnt find it as quiet as i say it is, for me its a very quiet drive, its very slow though. But if you don't want to gamble and have some money to spare, check Micron 1100 2TB $295
