psu and hdd channel

Post by jpsa » Tue Apr 27, 2004 8:10 am

This is a way I found too cool the psu and hdd using only a fan at 5v.
There's a channel from the psu to the front of the pc, the hdd is in that channel as well. My thoughts: The cold channel is not new but if I put the hdd in there its going to get cooled, and the air to the psu wont be much more hot.

works nicely, temps of the hdd droped 5ºC and the psu isn't noticeably hotter :)

Are you just using the PSU fan itself at 5V?

yeps, the air is slightly warm though... the hdd is always below 35ºC (I think my ambient temp is about 25ºC)
