Case: Antec 3700 BQE
Rear Fan: SilenX, set as intake with low rpm resistor
CPU fan (Aero7+) set to minimal, cannot hear it at all.
Cpu heatsink: arctic cooling copper silent 2L
Fan removed from copper silent2L and stuck in the PSU
Under load: stress test with prime95 (large TFTS) : Socket 32C, Diode 50/51C
Idle: Socket 28C Diode 43C
Items needed for mod: bit of string and an old milk carton
CPU Fan suspended with string. Hooked over the top of the heatsink and also suspended from above.
Fan is about 1cm away from heatsink. Its now MUCH quieter, no whooshing sound, had minmal affect on temperature.
Added the little milk carton cut out to duct the air a bit more and now it is even quieter!
Not sure on what dB is it now, but from 3M away you cant even hear it at all!
I also removed some of the acoustifoam i was using as i found it increased temps slightly. No i just have a few cutouts of acoustifoam in essential places.
