Lacks 3-pin fan control

HX 520
Not as silent as i thought, the machinery like sound you can hear in spcr's recording is noticeable. I'm thinking about switching it for a Neo HE or a passive silverstone.

8800 GTS
Not bad, mainly swosching air.

Thermalright HR-01
Intel plastic mountings, I mounted it wrong twice (bad contact), and managed to brake one of the plastic locks. In the end i guess it's reasonably tight.

Very nice build. That looks like a great LAN computer; small, powerful and probably quieter than the competition.

Nice Rig, i also have a TJ08.

But the P5B-VM is bad for overclocking. :cry:

IF you want to overclock, the Asus P5LD2-VM is a better choice.

Excellent build, you're a brave person to mount that heatsink when the motherboard is in the case, also great choice going with the TJ-08.

It's hard to compare the HD noise with the PSU's, one is low frequency and the other is high.
I might suspend the harddrive, not sure how yet, there's not allot of room.

About the motherboard, at the time I was under the impression that there where no good overclockers (s775 matx), that or really dated chipset features. So I went with this for the present. Maybe P5LD2-VM is it?

And the cooler mounting, you can't insert the mbtray with the cooler on if the PSU mounted, mounting the PSU afterwards also means some metal to plastic scraping.

There are really no "good" overclockers for s775-ÂµATX, but i really had no luck with my E6600 and the P5B-VM. First, it is quite bitchy on ram-voltage, second the g965 seems to be limited with FSB/PCIe-Freqs.

However with the P5LD2-VM (SE) i can push the FSB up to 333Mhz with a PCIe-Freq set to 112-118Mhz (depends on the FSB).

peterj, why not use the duct? It looks like your HR-01 is far enough from the fan that it would make a difference. Damn, I'm jealous, as I want to use an HR-01 in my system but between the Asrock motherboard with the socket very close to the edge and the NSK3300 case with almost no room above the MB, I can't fit it -- at least not at a useful orientation.

I think Abit F-I90HD is the best choice for overclocking. It's still on it's first BIOS version, but has already been modded and some people have raised the FSB up to 370 MHz (post 537). Not that impressive, but a new BIOS version could probably take it even higher. If you're using it with an E4300 it's enough though, 3330 MHz.

Yes, i have recommended the P5LD2-VM until i got my Abit Fatal1ty F-I90HD.
I am at 360Mhz FSB for now with a E6600 and 4x1GB RAM @ DDR2-667.

PCIe, PCI and DDR2-Freq are fixed with standard-bios.
