A quick analysis compared to my 12x1TB box: 20W more peak usage at boot, similar idle usage, and 20W lower usage with drive access. No doubt the LP drives are frugal, considering these numbers are with 4 more drives, and swraid.
Will post average power usage numbers in a couple of weeks.
The one drive thats putting on reallocated sectors is now up to 77, after 3460 hours runtime
Was 3.7TB - then 2.7TB, now 19.1TB "quiet" server

my Corasir HX620W worked for 2 and a half years and had almost no dust at all. to achive that, I just used some custom (home) made air filters in front of fans and sealed all other holes.Wibla wrote:Seems like it

filters were similar to this (this is a new case):
this way filter can be vacuum-cleaned or even replaced without need to power-off server.
