Noise:
Death silent, no really! I can only hear a slight hum from the HDD when I sit on my knees and keep my ear, like 20 cm of the case. How else would this be possible with only 3 moving parts in the whole system (2 fans, 1 HDD)
The stressed temps could be a bit high. But remember: for games I have my other PC that I build earlier. This one is purely for: TV, Video and Audio it never happens that it gets 100% loaded.
So in a reasonable situation, even with 1080P video files, the HTPC will only hit like 60% system use and that is divided over: memory, CPU and GPU because I use Media portal with Hardware acceleration.
The only problem I have now is: storage space, but I have a nifty device in the floppy bracket for a decent solution. It’s a removable Notebook drive also 120 Gb big. I use it like a Tape recorder. So I can use removable HDD’s like video tapes. But besides that I’m looking for a bigger drive solution I think a Antec external Drive with 1 TB is a good idear.
