That is probably one of the most cleanest build I've ever seen. And I've seen A lot. That was excellent idea to use paxmate to cover the wire bundle. I am impressed ^^

But I bet those noctuas might howl...

How do you like the Paxmate? Annoying to cut, install, does it have the desired effect?

And I'm going to steal that idea of putting the cables under the sound absorbing material for long lasting builds, why didn't i think of that? :)

You might want to change the title.. I expected to see a rig. This is not a rig. This is eye candy!!

Great wire management. Perhaps best I've seen .. ever?? Did you fanswap the PSU or is it silent as it is? Might be worth it. And did the PaxMate come precut for the case or just as bulk sheets?

It isn't just very clean, it just looks awesome.

It’s very easy to cut and install, but has no effect for acoustic damping… ZERO! NADA! VOID! Just looks good and that’s it all that it can do… I didn’t know that before i bought it but I was too lazy to removing it (I have AcoustiPack Deluxe already and when I have time I will try to remove the PaxMate witch is harder to remove than install)
I didn’t stick the PaxMate over the wires! It’s sticked just on the mobotray and on the lateral panels of the case. Anytime I can use any cable I want. None isn't fixed irremediably. I put all the wires between the mobotray and the right panel of the case. I just cut a rectangular hole in the mobotray too guide the wires though it and after that I applied the material)

PaxMate don’t come precut for the case. Has come as bulk sheets.
The PSU is in warranty period and I can’t swap the fan yet because I may loose that warranty… After the warranty expire I will probably change the fan with Noctua NF-P12.
I’ll make new pics when my 8800GT/GTS (G92) will come :D

The best fan of the bunch was the Noctua,
which overcame our skepticism and lived up to
its hype by producing more airflow at lower speeds.
Its airflow-to-noise ratio is its best feature, which
gives it enough of an edge to make up for its slightly
rougher noise character.
The Noctua has seen recommendations around the web,
and we have no qualms about adding our own to the list.

:( Sorry to hear the acoustic dampening was a no go. So pretty much the foam is all show and no go... but darn is it a SHOW! :) That is probably the neatest configuration I have ever seen!

WOW.

Sorry and Congrats at the same time.

Cleanest build I've ever seen! And thanks for the tidbit of information above. I was always wondering about that (as it's the only thing I had left to try to quiet down my PC even more) but always hesitated seeing how expensive it was.

Daaaaaaammmmnnnn.

That looks like a custom stereo install in a trunk, not the inside of a desktop PC. Seriously slick, sir! And as a side note, you'll definitely like the 8800GT after suffering through a 6200TC. :D

And, since nobody else remembered to say this: Welcome to SPCR!!!

I'm with Strid... I think this qualifies more as a "pinup" than a "rig." Acoustic dampening or not, you've achieved the sort of "clean room" look that so many of us strive for and miss. Or, in my case, give up on altogether.

Kudos!

Just to sound a note of caution - while it looks nice, I'm not sure it's necessarily a good idea to have insulating foam sandwiched the motherboard and the tray, as it might inhibit heat dissipation from the CPU and chipset areas on the reverse side of the board.

You'd also need to make absolutely sure that any material there was completely non-conductive, for obvious reasons.

Still, if the temps are OK in practice and everything works, I guess it's all good. :)

The space between the mobo and the mobotray isn't covered. I've cut the material in "u'' shape, sourrounding the mobo. Under the mobo the material enters for just 1 cm

I've often wondered why there isn't just a lattice work of metal behind the mobo. It'd cover all of your mounting locations and add a lot of space for wire management or heat dissipation.

I'm sure it'd cost more to produce... but whatever.

I dont think it'd cost more to produce... At least they can make more holes for the wires in the mobo tray
Something like that:

you can cover them with AcoustiPack or something like that after you guide the wires through them...

was wondering why you still use the Creative 5.1 sound card ?

wouldn't the on-board be better?

Very nice indeed. Those pics make me feel guilty about my own build. So you use 2 sound devices without any errors? Never needed to do that myself but I always thought either bios or windows wouldnt like that.

Wow, really nice build!

The only use I found acoustic damping foam was reducing resonance in an aluminium case. I guess with your hard drives in those enclosures, you shouldn't have that problem.

Awesome. I'd really want some of that acoustic dampening, pretty smart usage of it to hide the wires.
