New (Hopefully) Quiet Gaming Machine from Israel !

Post by gomunkul » Tue Sep 02, 2008 6:43 am

Hello to all !

My name is Ophir and I'm located in the warm land of Israel.

For many years now I have been using silentpc.com and its forums for advise on silent computing.

Now came a time for my new computer to be build,
I'll try to use the best advises from silentpc.com to construct a quiet, cool, tough and somewhat budget :D gaming machine !

Ordered:

Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2.53GHz (will try to overclock it...)

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3

G.Skill DDR2 4096MB (2048MBx2) 1000Mhz CL 5-5-5-15 PI

PALIT ATI Radeon HD4850 512MB PCIe (a solid budget gaming card)

Nexus Real Silent Case Fan 120mm (x3) (silentpc standard )
Nexus Real Silent Case Fan 90mm PWM (x2) (for AC accelero )

Logitech Ultra-Flat Keyboard

Logitech VX Nano Cordless Mouse (loved the looks and touch of it)

Altec Lansing BXR1121 2.1

Corsair CMPSU-450VXEU 450W (nothing to add here)

DVD+\-RW X 22 SAMSUNG SH-S223F SATA (no good review out there but i saw couple of them running, seemed quiet..)

Cooler Master Centurion 590 RC-590-KKN1-GP (great cooling, will have to see about the silence...)

ARCTIC COOLING MX2 Thermal Compound (used it - loved it)

Arctic - Cooling Freezer XTREME (didn't found a review, but i trust AC to make a quality product at least as their Freezer 7 Pro that i used for a long time very successfully)

Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev.2 (old and trusted VGA cooler)

Well... the parts will start to come tomorrow...
I'll inform you then and send pictures!

Sounds like it's going to be a pretty nice build. I haven't seen any reviews on AC's Freezer Xtreme either. Perhaps you can do a before/after comparison with Intel's cooler.

Looking forward to seeing some pics of it all.

That's a great idea!
I'll make a temperature comparison: Intel Stock vs. AC Freezer Xtreme.
Will be nice to see how AC Freezer Xtreme does.

I almost got one, but alas, haven't seen any reviews. Plus, I heart Thermalright!

I like the looks of memory module. I use UltraFlat in my game rig. Not as quiet as I thought but its temporary solution. I like to type it with though. Have you tested if palit's heatsink has automatic fan control or is it fixed speed?
